Rosamund Pike Joins Thunderbirds Are Go

Rosamund Pike is set to play Lady Penelope and David Graham will be reprising his role as chauffeur/International Rescue agent Parker in ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures’ Thunderbirds Are Go!. The series, based on Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s beloved series, will premiere on ITV in 2015.

According to ITV, the new show will be a mix of CGI animation and live-action miniature sets.

“I’m very excited to bring Lady Penelope’s wry wit and taste for adventure to a new generation,” stated Pike. “Exploring the scenes with David Graham has been an absolute delight. The scripts are very modern, very fresh and very funny. We’re all eagerly anticipating our next stint in the recording studio!”

The cast will also include:

– Unstoppable inventor Brains will be voiced by Kayvan Novak.
– Tracy brothers Gordon and John are both played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones).
– The youngest and oldest Tracy brothers Alan and Scott will be played by Rasmus Hardiker.
– The fifth Tracy brother, Virgil, will be played by David Menkin.
– Tracy Island matriarch Grandma Tracy is voiced by Sandra Dickinson.
– Master villain The Hood played by Andres Williams.
– The new character Kayo, the Tracy brothers’ friend and fellow island resident, will be played by Angel Coulby.
– Colonel Casey will be voiced by Adjoa Andoh.

Commenting on his cast, executive producer Giles Ridge said, “Each member of the cast has brought a brilliantly fresh and unique approach to these wonderful characters. I can’t think of anyone better than Rosamund to bring back to life the fabulous Lady Penelope and we are honoured that David Graham has joined the cast to revisit his role as Parker.”

ITV’s working on 26 30-minute episodes with Rob Hoegee as head writer, David Scott as series director, and Theo Baynton as episodic director.
