Filming is now underway on Ghost Wars starring Twisted‘s Avan Jogia, Sons of Anarchy‘s Kim Coates, Emerald City‘s Vincent D’Onofrio, Motive‘s Kristin Lehman, and Meatloaf. The 13 episode one-hour dramatic series is targeting a 2017 premiere on Syfy (in the U.S.) and Netflix. Van Helsing‘s Simon Barry created the series and is on board as the showrunner. Production is currently taking place in Vancouver and is expected to wrap up in August.
David Von Ancken (Tut, Salem) is directing episodes of season one as are Leslie Hope (Aftermath), Michael Nankin (Van Helsing), Mathias Herdndl (Motive), Jason Priestley (Private Eyes), and Simon Barry (Continuum). Nomadic Pictures is producing the paranormal action series and Barry, Von Ancken, Dennis Heaton, Chad Oakes, and Mike Frislev are executive producing.

The Plot: The series is set in a remote Alaskan town that has been overrun by paranormal forces. Local outcast Roman Mercer (Jogia) must overcome the town’s prejudices and his own personal demons if he’s to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting that’s threatening to destroy them all.
