Winners were announced for the 25th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards on November 30, 2015, with Spotlight snagging three awards including Best Feature. Tom McCarthy and Josh Singer were recognized for the screenplay for Spotlight, and the film’s talented cast picked up the Special Jury Award for an ensemble performance.

While Spotlight‘s odds of earning multiple Oscar nominations have just gotten better, two other films mentioned in most Oscar conversations – Room and Carol – went home empty handed.
