The cast of CBS’ The Good Wife has expanded by one, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) joining the drama series for season seven. According to CBS’ official casting announcement, Morgan will be playing Alex, “a calm, experienced hourly investigator whom Alicia hires.”
“We’ve loved and admired Jeffrey Dean Morgan for years, and we were thrilled to hear that Julianna did too, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to join our troupe,” stated executive producers Robert and Michelle King.
The Good Wife stars Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski, Matt Czuchry, Alan Cumming, and Zach Grenier. Season seven of the award-winning series will premiere on October 4, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT.
Morgan can currently be seen on CBS’ summer series Extant opposite Halle Berry. His other television credits include Texas Rising, Magic City, Weeds, Grey’s Anatomy, and Supernatural.
