Husband and wife entertainers John Legend and Chrissy Teigen will be helping to ring in the holidays with NBC’s A Legendary Christmas With John and Chrissy. The hour-long special will feature the couple and some of their friends and family members, with additional celebrity guests to be announced closer to the air date.
NBC announced the holiday celebration will air on November 28, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT.
“What John has accomplished over his career is simply remarkable and we’re thrilled to have both he and Chrissy host our holiday special,” stated Doug Vaughan, Executive Vice President, Special Programs, NBC Entertainment. “It will be a truly memorable telecast filled with wonderful performances that will have something for everyone.”
John Legend recently earned the “E” portion of the coveted EGOT distinction with his Emmy win in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category for Jesus Christ Superstar Live. The 10-time Grammy winner picked up the “O” by winning the Oscar for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song for “Glory” from Selma. And his “T” came in 2017 as the producer of the Tony Award-winning play, Jitney.
According to NBC, John Legend’s expected to perform songs off A Legendary Christmas, his new Christmas album dropping on October 26th.
Besides being one of the most popular celebrities on Twitter, Chrissy Teigen is one of the hosts of Paramount Network’s wild celebrity competition series, Lip Sync Battle. Teigen’s also the best-selling author of 2016’s Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat which hit the #1 spot on the New York Times list. She recently followed up her popular cookbook with Cravings: Hungry for More which hit stores earlier this year. In addition, Teigen has a kitchen and tabletop collection called “Cravings by Chrissy Teigen” sold at Target.
The one-hour holiday special will be produced by Universal Television, Done + Dusted and Friends at Work.
