NBC announced the first two actors to sign up for Good Place, a new comedy series from Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation). Kristen Bell and Ted Danson will star in the 13-episode comedy, however NBC did not announce when production is expected to get underway or how soon we can expect to hear more casting news. Schur and David Miner will executive produce.

11-time nominee, two-time Emmy winner Danson just wrapped up work on the second season of the critically acclaimed series Fargo. His TV credits also include Cheers, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bored to Death, and Damages. Bell’s TV credits include Veronica Mars, Deadwood, Heroes, Party Down, Gossip Girl, Parks and Recreation, and House of Lies.

Per NBC, Bell will play “Eleanor, a woman from New Jersey who comes to realize that she hasn’t been a very good person. She decides to turn over a new leaf by learning what it actually means to be ‘good’ or ‘bad,’ and then trying to make up for her past behavior.”

Danson will play Michael, “who, through an unlikely set of circumstances, comes to be Eleanor’s guide through her self-designed self-improvement course.”
