As part of The X Factor winner’s package, Melanie Amaro will be the star of Pepsi’s Super Bowl XLVI commercial. The “King’s Court” ad features Amaro singing a song she recorded specifically for the commercial in front of the “King of Rock,” played by Sir Elton John.

Amaro’s song, according to Pepsi, is a contemporized version of Otis Redding’s “Respect” (a hit for Aretha Franklin). And if you’re watching the commercial and Shazam the tune, you’ll get to see Amaro’s “Respect” music video.

Noam Murro directed the ad which is described as a rock-fantasy version of medieval times. Commenting on his involvement, Sir Elton John said, “Pepsi wanted to make me ‘King for a Day’ on Super Bowl Sunday. How could I possibly pass that up?”

“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be starring in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial, following in the footsteps of some of music’s biggest legends,” stated Melanie Amaro. “Winning The X Factor has changed my life.”

PepsiCo will also run another new commercial during the Super Bowl, with Regis Philbin featured promoting Pepsi MAX.
