‘Aquaman’ First Photo, New Logo, and Filming Details

Filming is officially underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ Aquaman, based on the popular DC Comics character. Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) takes on the title role in the superhero action-adventure film from director James Wan (The Conjuring). The cast also includes Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta. Patrick Wilson is playing Orm/Ocean Master and Nicole Kidman is Atlanna.


Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns are executive producing, with Peter Safran producing. Don Burgess is the director of photography, Kirk M. Morri is editing, and Bill Brzeski is the production designer. Charles Gibson and Kelvin McIlwain are the visual effects supervisors.

Aquaman will shoot in Newfoundland, Sicily, Tunisia, and the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. Warner Bros is targeting a 2018 theatrical release.
