The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the list of animated feature films that are currently eligible for consideration for the 90th Academy Awards. Animated movies are eligible for categories including Best Animated Feature Film and Best Picture.

Per the Academy: “Several of the films have not yet had their required Los Angeles qualifying run. Submitted features must fulfill the theatrical release requirements and comply with all of the category’s other qualifying rules before they can advance in the voting process. Depending on the number of films that qualify, two to five nominees may be voted. Sixteen or more films must qualify for the maximum of five nominees to be voted.”

The 2018 Oscars mark the first time all the eligible voting members of the Academy will be able to vote in the Animated Feature Film selection process. The rules previously allowed only select members of the Short Films and Feature Animation Branch, as well as special invited members, to have a say in the Animated Feature Film nominees.

The 2018 Oscars are set for Sunday, March 4, 2018 and will be airing live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
