Emmy Award nominee Peter Krause (Six Feet Under) has signed on to star in Fox’s dramatic series 9-1-1, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Krause joins Oscar nominee Angela Bassett in the series, which will be a part of Fox’s 2018 premiere lineup.

In addition to the casting of Peter Krause, the network announced Emmy Award nominee Tim Minear (Feud, American Horror Story) will be the showrunner and an executive producer. We Are Marshall‘s McG is on board to direct the first episode, which will be written and executive produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Murphy and Falchuk are the creative minds behind American Horror Story, Scream Queens, and Glee.

Krause’s credits include The Catch with Mireille Enos, Parenthood with Lauren Graham, and Cybill starring Cybill Shepherd. He’s also appeared in Dirty Sexy Money, Sports Night, and The Lost Room, as well as Beastly, Civic Duty, and We Don’t Live Here Anymore.

The Plot: 9-1-1 is a new series that will begin with the fateful question, “9-1-1, what’s your emergency?” The procedural drama explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking, and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.
