The CW’s new drama series Riverdale premiered on January 26, 2017, introducing viewers to high school students Archie, Betty, Veronica, Cheryl, and Josie and the Pussycat’s leader, Josie. Season one of the series based on the Archie comic book characters finds the high schoolers caught up in a murder investigation while figuring out their places in the school’s hierarchy.
Episode two is titled ‘A Touch of Evil’ and will air on February 2, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote the script and Lee Toland Krieger directed.
The season one Riverdale cast includes KJ Apa as Archie Andrews. Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge, Mӓdchen Amick as Alice Cooper, Luke Perry as Fred Andrews, and Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy.
Riverdale Details: Based on the characters from the Archie Comics, Riverdale is a bold and subversive take on the wholesome town of Riverdale and some of its teen residents, including Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead, as they discover the darkness and dangers that bubble underneath their town’s wholesome façade.
The ‘Chapter Two: A Touch of Evil’ Plot: SECRETS UNRAVELED — As new details of Jason’s death begin to emerge, Archie (Apa) pleads with Miss Grundy (guest star Sarah Habel) to come forward with what they heard at Sweetwater River. Betty (Reinhart) makes an effort to mend her friendship with Archie but takes a different stance with Veronica (Mendes), who is trying to make up for her actions. With rumors around her brother’s death running rampant, Cheryl (Petsch) deals with the pressure in true Queen Bee fashion, while tensions boil over when Jughead (Sprouse) stumbles upon a secret Archie was hoping to keep hidden. Finally, plans for the annual fall pep rally move forward with a performance by Josie (Murray) and the Pussycats and a special appearance by Mayor McCoy (guest star Robin Givens.)
