Nickelodeon has tapped Russell Wilson, the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks, to host the Kids’ Choice Sports 2015 awards show. Wilson will be following in the footsteps of retired NY Giants Hall of Famer Michael Strahan who handled the hosting duties at the first Kids’ Choice Sports awards held last year.

The Nickelodeon awards show celebrates sports and athletes, with the winners voted on by kids. This year’s event will be held on July 16th and will air live on Nickelodeon. The show will take place at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion.

“I am thrilled that Nickelodeon has asked me to host Kids’ Choice Sports. What an honor to be the king of slime for one crazy night! I had so much fun at the show last summer that I can’t wait to get back. What kid doesn’t want to get slimed? Count me in on that. I’m just a big kid at heart, so let the fun begin. I promise you, we’re going to have great fun,” said Russell Wilson.

Announcing Wilson’s hosting gig, Nickelodeon said the 2015 awards show will feature epic slimings, outrageous competitions, and unique categories. The winners will be taking home the special Nickelodeon orange mohawked blimp trophy.
