It’s definitely looking like the answer is yes, according to Deadline. They’re reporting the Marvel Studios series Joss Whedon will be involved in bringing to the small screen will be S.H.I.E.L.D. The series, according to Deadline, will – obviously – focus on Marvel’s top secret government organization.

There’s no word yet on casting, however things are speeding right along so we could be hearing what characters will be featured as well as rumors of who might be playing them relatively soon. The series, set up at ABC, has Whedon, his brother Jed, and Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse) attached to write the pilot. It’s possible Joss Whedon could also direct the pilot, but that’s not set in stone at this point. Both Whedons and Tancharoen will executive produce.

Whedon’s also gearing up for another Avengers movie as writer and director. The Avengers 2 will be heading to theaters in May 2015.
