‘Star’ Adds Patti LaBelle and Brandy Norwood as Guest Stars

Fox announced Grammy winners Patti LaBelle and Brandy Norwood will be appearing in guest starring roles in season two of Star. LaBelle and Norwood’s characters will appear in multi-episode arcs during the current season of the music-driven drama.

According to Fox’s announcement, Patti LaBelle will play “Carlotta Brown’s (Queen Latifah) tough but loving mother, Christine.” Brandy Norwood will guest star as Carlotta’s younger sister, Cassie.

Star season two airs on Wednesdays at 9pm ET/PT. The cast includes Queen Latifah, Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, Benjamin Bratt, Luke James, Amiyah Scott, Michael Michele, and Stephen Dorff.

The series was created by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy and is executive produced by Daniels, Donaghy, Pamela Oas Williams, and Karin Gist. Gist also serves as the season two showrunner.
