‘Game Night’ Teaser Trailer: What’s Real and What’s Just a Game?

The first teaser trailer’s arrived for Game Night, New Line Cinema’s action comedy directed by Vacation helmers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. The teaser trailer features a bloody dog, death by an airplane engine, car chases, bad karaoke, kidnappings, accidental shootings, and one annoying squeaky toy. It also features characters who have no idea what’s part of a bizarre game and what’s real.

The cast includes Jason Bateman (the Horrible Bosses films, Arrested Development), Rachel McAdams (Dr. Strange, True Detective), Billy Magnussen (American Crime Story, Bridge of Spies), Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe, BoJack Horseman), Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Barbershop: The Next Cut), Kylie Bunbury (Pitch, Under the Dome), Jesse Plemons (Fargo, Breaking Bad), Danny Huston (Wonder Woman), Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under), and Kyle Chandler (Bloodline, Friday Night Lights).

Mark Perez (Accepted) wrote the screenplay and John Davis (Joy), John Fox (The Blacklist), Jason Bateman, and Jim Garavente (Bad Words) produced the comedy. New Line Cinema’s planning a March 2, 2018 worldwide theatrical release.

The Game Night Plot: Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams star as Max and Annie, whose weekly couples game night gets kicked up a notch when Max’s charismatic brother, Brooks (Kyle Chandler), arranges a murder mystery party, complete with fake thugs and faux federal agents. So when Brooks gets kidnapped, it’s all part of the game…right? But as the six uber-competitive gamers set out to solve the case and win, they begin to discover that neither this “game”—nor Brooks—are what they seem to be.

Over the course of one chaotic night, the friends find themselves increasingly in over their heads as each twist leads to another unexpected turn. With no rules, no points, and no idea who all the players are, this could turn out to be the most fun they’ve ever had…or game over.
