Filming has just gotten underway in Atlanta on New Line Cinema’s comedy film, Tag, starring Ed Helms (The Hangover), Jake Johnson (New Girl), Hannibal Buress (The Nice Guys), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker). The cast also includes Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy), Rashida Jones (Angie Tribeca), Isla Fisher (Now You See Me), and Leslie Bibb (American Housewife).

The Wall Street Journal article “It Takes Planning, Caution to Avoid Being It” inspired the film. Mark Steilen (Mozart in the Jungle) and Rob McKittrick (Waiting) wrote the script and Jeff Tomsic (Broad City) is directing. Mark Steilen, Todd Garner, and Sean Robins are producing, and Hans Ritter is executive producing.

New Line’s set a June 29, 2018 theatrical release date.

The Plot: For one month every year, five highly competitive friends hit the ground running in a no-holds-barred game of tag they’ve been playing since the first grade—risking their necks, their jobs and their relationships to take each other down with the battle cry “You’re It!” This year, the game coincides with the wedding of their only undefeated player, which should finally make him an easy target. But he knows they’re coming…and he’s ready. Based on a true story, Tag shows how far some guys will go to be the last man standing.
