Vikings Finishes Up Season 1 With Big Numbers

History snagged the #1 new cable show of the year with the first season of Vikings, the network’s first scripted series. Vikings, written and created by Michael Hirst, finished out season one strong, drawing in 3.6 million viewers and finishing in first place for the 10pm Sunday night timeslot with males 25-54.
 
Vikings averaged 4.3 million viewers over its nine weeks and will be returning for a 10 episode season two in 2014. Filming’s expected to take place on season two this summer.
 
The cast of Vikings includes Travis Fimmel, Gabriel Byrne, Gustaf Skarsgard, Katheryn Winnick, Jessalyn Gilsig, George Blagden, and Clive Standen.
 
The Plot:
 
Vikings tells the extraordinary tales of the lives and epic adventures of these warriors. The drama portrays the world of these Dark Age raiders, traders, explorers – not from an outsider’s view, but, through the eyes of Viking society.
