Lionsgate’s unveiled new character posters for the R-rated suspense thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow. Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, stars in and co-wrote the screenplay, and apparently the film finds the four-time Grammy winner playing a version of himself.

“This experience was really introspective and cathartic for me,” stated Tesfaye in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “From writing to production and through post — I realized just how much of a catalyst this art form can be for conversations about our emotions, mental health, and vulnerabilities.”

The film also stars Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin). Tesfaye, Ortega, and Keoghan are featured on the just-released red and black character posters.

Lionsgate’s very basic synopsis reads, “A musician plagued by insomnia is pulled into an odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence.” Trey Edward Shults (It Comes at Night) directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Tesfaye and Reza Fahim. Tesfaye, Fahim, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss serve as producers.

Lionsgate has set a May 16, 2025 theatrical release date for the thriller that shares a title with The Weeknd’s sixth album.

Ghosts Description, Courtesy of CBS:

Ghosts is a single-camera comedy about Samantha and Jay, a cheerful freelance journalist and up-and-coming chef from the city, respectively, who threw both caution and money to the wind when they decided to convert Woodstone Mansion, which Sam inherited, into a bed & breakfast—only to find it was inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home.

The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer (Danielle Pinnock); a pompous 18th-century militiaman (Brandon Scott Jones); a ‘60s hippie fond of hallucinogens (Sheila Carrasco); an overly upbeat ‘80s scout troop leader (Richie Moriarty); a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009 (Devon Chandler Long); a slick ‘90s finance bro (Asher Grodman); a sarcastic and witty native from the 16th-century (Román Zaragoza); and a society woman and wife of a 19th-century robber baron who is Sam’s ancestor (Rebecca Wisocky), to name a few. The opening of the B&B has been a source of intrigue, anxiety, and curiosity among the spirits, but they will gladly put up with the commotion as long as they can continue to interact with a living inhabitant.

Gordon Ramsay Saves Struggling Restaurants in ‘Secret Service’

Gordon Ramsay’s creeping into restaurants under the cover of darkness in Gordon Ramsay Goes Undercover, a new unscripted series airing on Fox this May. Although it sounds a little sketchy, Ramsay’s got a good reason to go into stealth mode; it’s all to help restaurants in trouble.

“Over the years, I’ve embarked on many daring adventures alongside my partners at FOX,” stated Gordon Ramsay. “And Secret Service is the most intrepid of them all! With undercover help and cutting-edge technology, I get to go full on ‘MI6’ with these restaurants…and they’ll never see it coming.”

The new series is produced by Studio Ramsay Global and FOX Alternative Entertainment. Bill Langworthy is the showrunner and executive produces with Gordon Ramsay.

Fox offers this description of the latest entry on Ramsay’s culinary series resume:

“In a Gordon Ramsay series first, Chef Ramsay will venture into struggling restaurants under the cover of night. With the help of a secret source on the inside, he’ll gather raw, unfiltered evidence and get a 360-degree view of the major issues facing each restaurant. This insider will not only remain a secret to the staff but will also help Ramsay infiltrate the restaurant after-hours for a dramatic nighttime black light kitchen investigation that reveals more filth and grossness than ever before.

By the time Ramsay reveals his identity, it will be too late for staff to cover up their culinary crimes. Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service will be his toughest assignment yet as he takes drastic measures to transform not only the restaurant but also the staff, because Gordon knows he can upgrade the menu and renovate the restaurant, but the most important change has to come from the people. Are the restaurant and staff willing to accept Gordon’s mission, or are they too far gone to be saved?”

Ramsay’s new Fox series premieres on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 9pm ET/PT.

“Gordon is among the most prolific creative forces in television history, and along the way, has amassed an unbelievable fanbase, reaching nearly six billion total viewers and counting,” said Michael Thorn, President, FOX Television Network. “With limitless talent, Gordon infuses each of his series with its own remarkable, distinctive personality and unrivaled stakes, a reputation he certainly upholds with this terrific new concept that will once again keep his fans endlessly engaged.”
