The CW’s The 100 season four premiered on February 1, 2017, kicking off immediately after the events of season three. Civilization will be gone in six months unless, to steal a line from Matt Damon in The Martian, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and her crew are able to “science the sh*t” out of this huge problem. Or as Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) and Abby (Paige Turco) explain it, the youth have inherited the earth and they have six months to save it.

Episode two titled ‘Heavy Lies the Crown’ will air on February 8, 2017. ‘Heavy Lies the Crown’ was directed by Ed Fraiman from a script by Justine Juel Gillmer.

The season two cast includes Bob Morley as Bellamy, Marie Avgeropoulos as Octavia, Devon Bostick as Jasper, Lindsey Morgan as Raven, Christopher Larkin as Monty, Richard Harmon as Murphy, and Isaiah Washington as Jaha. And as a fan of Black Sails it’s great to have Zach McGowan back on TV, even if he’s not playing a swashbuckling pirate.

Heavy Lies the Crown Plot: The burden of leading weighs heavily upon Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Morley) when different challenges force them to determine who will live and die.

Marvel Announces the Cast of ‘Runaways’

Runaways Cast News

Marvel Television announced the six young actors who will star in Marvel’s Runaways for Hulu. The upcoming series is based on the Marvel comics by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona and has Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage attached as writers, executive producers and showrunners. Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb is also executive producing along with Jim Chory. The just-announced cast members include Rhenzy Feliz (Teen Wolf), Lyrica Okano (The Affair), Virginia Gardner (Goat), Ariela Barer (New Girl), Gregg Sulkin (Faking It), and Allegra Acosta (100 Things to do Before High School).

“The fun and chemistry that this group of talented actors create is wonderful, and we’re so excited to bring these beloved characters to life,” stated executive producer Jeph Loeb.

Comic co-creator/series executive consultant Brian K. Vaughn said, “I’m so excited for fans of the comic to watch this perfect cast of amazing actors, all of whom embody the spirit of their characters more than I ever could have imagined.”

“We have had a total blast bringing Brian and Adrian’s amazing story to life. We’re so happy they love the Runaways we’ve assembled as much as we do,” added Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

The Plot: Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? Marvel’s Runaways is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe–their parents.

Runaways Characters:

  • Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder is a loud-and-proud nerd. Admittedly a bit of a loner, Alex spends much of his free-time playing video games, but deep down, what he wants most is to reunite his childhood group of friends.
  • Lyrica Okano as Nico Minoru – tough, intelligent, and independent–embodies teenage angst. A budding “Wiccan,” Nico’s carefully crafted goth appearance isolates her from her peers and family, but maybe what she really needs is someone to talk to.
  • Virginia Gardner as Karolina Dean, model-perfect exterior with a lot going on behind her professionally whitened smile, is burdened by the lofty expectations and responsibilities put upon her by her parents. Underneath her veneer of privilege and perfection, Karolina is experiencing a newfound eagerness to explore her identity and pursue her own desires.
  • Ariela Barer as Gert Yorkes is a purple-haired, bespectacled, contemporary riot grrrl. Never passing up a moment to stand on a soapbox, Gert sometimes wields her persona as a brash social justice warrior to mask her true feelings.
  • Gregg Sulkin as Chase Stein is a lacrosse-playing, high school heartthrob. While many write him off as a dumb jock, Chase exhibits flashes of untapped brilliance in engineering, not unlike his wildly successful father’s.
  • Allegra Acosta as Molly Hernandez, the youngest and most innocent member of her friend group, is known for her peppy positivity and a deep yearning to belong.

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Final Episodes Behind the Scenes Video

The second half of AMC’s hit zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead premieres on February 12, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. Season seven episode eight left off with the gang finally reuniting and with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) returning to form and ready to take on Negan. The upcoming second half of the season will pick up with Rick and his crew attempting to unite other communities to stand up against Negan and his followers. The new video just released by AMC shows footage from the upcoming episodes and includes interviews with cast members summing up the first half of season seven and previewing what’s coming in the season’s second half.

In the short video, Andrew Lincoln says the new episodes are about gathering together the resistance. Danai Gurira discusses the group’s actions in the first half of season seven and how they didn’t represent the normal character of the group as a whole. However, Jeffrey Dean Morgan points out that no matter what, Negan is still out there waiting with a big smile on his face.

The official 7B plot, courtesy of AMC:

“The first half of Season 7 saw Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group broken by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), forced to fall under his will and brutally convinced to live under his rules. The second half of the season will focus on preparing for war and gathering the supplies and numbers to take Negan down once and for all.

Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose – to defeat Negan – it won’t come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley) do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable.

We’ll meet new survivors in incredible places. We’ll see Rick and the group tested in ways we’ve never seen before. We’ll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.”

Prepare for the return of killer flying sharks! Syfy and The Asylum are working on Sharknado 5 and have confirmed filming is currently underway in Bulgaria. The fifth film of the campy horror comedy series will once star Ian Ziering as Fin Shepard and Tara Reid as April Wexler. Cassie Scerbo is also returning as Sharknado fighter Nova. Anthony C. Ferrante is back as director and Scotty Mullen wrote the script for the still untitled fifth film of the franchise.

Sharknado 5 will take the action international, with filming set to take place in five countries including the UK and Australia. As with the previous Sharknado films, we can expect a batch of random celebrities to show up for cameos in the upcoming fifth film.

Sharknado 5 Script

The Plot: The original 2013 Sharknado film, which introduced a cyclone depositing man-eating sharks on the citizens of Los Angeles, became a worldwide phenomenon and spawned a pop culture franchise. In Sharknado 2: The Next One, New York City was the target of the disaster, and in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, a mega-sharknado made its way down the “Feast Coast” from Washington, D.C. to Florida. In the most recent installment, Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens, the shark-infested storms went national. The film ended with the Eiffel Tower ripping away from Paris and crashing down on Niagara Falls – a chilling indication that no one in the world is safe!

Now, in Sharknado 5, with much of North America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for the inevitable – a global sharknado. Fin Shepard and his family must put a stop to this disaster before Earth is completely obliterated.

Fire Walk With me focuses on the seven days leading up to Laura Palmer’s brutal murder. Oxygen Large Logo

Oxygen Media is shifting its programming focus and has added three new shows to its roster of upcoming programs. Oxygen is rebranding itself as a “crime destination network for women” with the addition of Three Days to Live, Cold Justice, and The Jury Speaks. Three Days to Live will premiere on March 5, 2017, with Cold Justice from executive producer Dick Wolf (Law and Order, Chicago Fire) and The Jury Speaks arriving later this year. The goal is to have a full-time crime slate by this summer, according to Oxygen.

“The recent expansion of our ‘Crime Time’ weekend block has enjoyed double-digit gains and has really resonated with our female audience,” said Frances Berwick, President, Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “Oxygen has always played in this space with the highly successful original series Snapped, one of the longest running crime series on television now approaching its 20th season. With a lot of high quality projects in development, we believe our current fans, as well as all arm chair detectives, have good reason to be excited.”

The network reports its viewership has increased by 42% since the special weekend Crime Time block debuted.

Three Days to Live – It’s a story that dominates the headlines all too often – every hour a woman is taken, and the chances of finding her alive diminish greatly if she is not found within 72 hours of her disappearance. Three Days to Live delves into the crucial days immediately following a harrowing abduction with vivid, visceral recreations and compelling first-hand interviews from authorities and loved ones. Distinguished news correspondent, SuChin Pak, narrates the series, taking viewers through the twists and turns of each tormenting case.

From a young girl who is taken by a group of masked men, and held at ransom after answering a knock at the door, to a suburban South Carolina wife and mother who never returned home after a holiday shopping spree, each mystery is unraveled, and viewers will witness justice being served, no matter the outcome.

Cold Justice – Oxygen revives Cold Justice, a real life crime series that follows former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and her team of detectives as they dig into small town murder cases that have lingered for years without answers or closure. Together with local law enforcement from across the country, the Cold Justice team has helped bring about an astounding 16 indictments, 28 arrests, 6 confessions, 8 guilty pleas, and 10 convictions.

The Jury Speaks – Robert Blake. George Zimmerman. Michael Jackson. Their trials sparked media frenzy, but their fates were all decided by a single jury. The Jury Speaks is self-contained, true-crime series that reexamines some of the most high-profile and controversial cases through the eyes of the original jury. These ordinary citizens were catapulted into the limelight. But what really went down inside the courtroom walls? It’s time to get their side of the story and find out if after all these years, would they cast the same vote, or have their minds changed?

‘Riverdale’ Video: Josie and the Pussycats Perform “Sugar, Sugar”

Riverdale Sugar Sugar Song

The CW revealed Josie and the Pussycats will be performing a cover version of “Sugar, Sugar” during the February 2, 2017 episode of Riverdale. The new drama’s second episode will feature “Candy Girl (Sugar, Sugar)” with lead vocals by Ashleigh Murray (‘Josie’) and backing vocals by guest stars Asha Bromfield (‘Melody’) and Hayley Law (‘Valerie’) as the Pussycats. Series star Madelaine Petsch (‘Cheryl Blossom’) also sings on this cover of 2009’s Inner Circle featuring Flo Rida which was inspired by the 1969 “Sugar, Sugar” song by The Archies.

The original song hit the #1 spot on the Billboard 100 chart back in ’69 and remained there for four weeks.

“Sugar, Sugar” will be performed in the episode by Josie and the Pussycats during a Riverdale football pep rally. The just-released sneak peek video includes some footage that isn’t part of season one’s second episode.

“The hit song ‘Sugar, Sugar’ has always been a huge part of Archie’s history, so we knew we had to include it in Riverdale in some way. Since Archie’s just starting his musical journey when we meet him, we thought it would be a fun reinvention to have Josie and the Pussycats perform an updated version of ‘Sugar, Sugar’ — with an assist from Riverdale High’s cheerleaders and resident mean girl Cheryl Blossom,” explained executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

“As if stepping into the shoes of a fiery icon like Josie wasn’t enough, I was gifted the opportunity to reimagine and rock out on the classic ‘Sugar, Sugar.’ And boy, was it sweet,” said Ashleigh Murray.

In addition to Ashleigh Murray and Madelaine Petsch, the Riverdale cast includes KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Marisol Nichols, Mädchen Amick and Luke Perry. The one-hour series airs on Thursdays at 9pm ET/PT.
