‘Star Wars’ Original Trilogy As Re-Imagined by the Bad Lip Reading Crew

Normally the creative people behind the Bad Lip Reading videos put out one, maybe two videos a year. However, in honor of the release of the most anticipated film of 2015 – Star Wars: The Force Awakens – the Bad Lip Reading people have ventured to a galaxy far, far away and come up with new dialogue (and songs) for Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Thanks to BLR we now know exactly what Chewbacca was saying all along and we’ve learned Obi-Wan Kenobi was a wannabe songwriter.

Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, and Jack Black lend their voices to a few of the Star Wars franchise’s most memorable characters in the new set of Star Wars videos, courtesy of Bad Lip Reading.

Thoughts of his death galvanize the forces who seek to succeed him as king, including his wife Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and his oldest son, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig). Meanwhile, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) continues power struggles with her calculating, former second in command, Kalf (Ben Robson); Rollo (Clive Standen) betrays his Vikings heritage by remaining in Frankia and Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) is seized for his brutal actions to the Christian priest Athelstan.”

‘Whiskey Tango Foxtrot’ First Trailer and Poster with Tina Fey

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Poster

Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first trailer and poster for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (also known as WTFTheMovie) starring Tina Fey and based on the true story recounted by Kim Barker in the book The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days In Afghanistan And Pakistan. Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the filmmaking team behind Crazy, Stupid, Love, the cast also includes Martin Freeman, Margot Robbie, Billy Bob Thornton, and Alfred Molina.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.

The Book’s Plot:

When Kim Barker first arrived in Kabul as a journalist in 2002, she barely owned a passport, spoke only English and had little idea how to do the “Taliban Shuffle” between Afghanistan and Pakistan. No matter—her stories about Islamic militants and shaky reconstruction were soon overshadowed by the bigger news in Iraq. But as she delved deeper into Pakistan and Afghanistan, her love for the hapless countries grew, along with her fear for their future stability. In this darkly comic and unsparing memoir, Barker uses her wry, incisive voice to expose the absurdities and tragedies of the “forgotten war,” finding humor and humanity amid the rubble and heartbreak.

Each year the American Film Institute recognizes the best in feature films and television series with its AFI Awards, and this year they journeyed to a galaxy far, far away for one of the entries. While most critics groups voted on their annual awards before the press screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, apparently the American Film Institute held off long enough to take in The Force Awakens before issuing their list.

AFI also awarded Mad Men the AFI Special Award “acknowledging its landmark contributions to America’s cultural legacy across nine years. In the history of AFI AWARDS, no other television program has earned as many honors.”

Per the American Film Institute, the AFI Awards recognize creative teams rather than individual achievements. “Honorees are selected based on works that advance the art of the moving image, enhance the rich cultural heritage of America’s art form, inspire audiences and artists alike and make a mark on American society.”
