Megan Fox in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' (Photo Courtesy of Paramount Pictures)Are you excited about a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie or over the whole idea of the heroes in a half shell hitting the big screen? They’ll be back in theaters on August 8, 2014, so those of you who responded ‘yes’ to the second part of that question are just going to have to deal with the fact that in the next few months you’ll be seeing TMNT stuff everywhere.
The new Turtles film is produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans, Battle Los Angeles) and has Megan Fox, Noel Fisher, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, and Jeremy Howard in starring roles. This first trailer shows the Turtles in action and Megan Fox fainting. What else does it show? Not much about the story but you do get a good look at the size and design of these new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Disaster movie fans: mark August 8, 2014 on your calendars. That’s when New Line Cinema and Village Roadshow Pictures are launching Into the Storm into theaters. The film focuses on the devastation wrought by tornadoes and stars Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Arlen Escarpeta, Nathan Kress, Jon Reep, and Jeremy Sumpter.
The Plot:
In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot.
Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs, and courageous townspeople, Into the Storm throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme.
Donald Faison, David Alan Basche, and Wayne Knight in 'The Exes' (Photo courtesy of TV Land)The Exes returns and Jennifer Falls is set to debut as part of TV Land’s 2014 summer lineup. The network will be kicking off the summer programming season on June 4th at 10:30pm ET/PT with the arrival of Jennifer Falls starring Jaime Pressly, Jessica Walter, Ethan Suplee and Missi Pyle. The Exes will premiere on August 13th with Donald Faison, Wayne Knight, David Alan Basche, Kelly Stables and Kristen Johnston back in lead roles, and TV Land will air an animated episode of Hot in Cleveland on August 6th.
Details on Jennifer Falls:
The first-ever single camera comedy for TV Land revolves around Jennifer Doyle (Pressly), a former high-powered executive who has fallen and hit every bump on the way down to rock bottom. With her teenage daughter (Dylan Gelula) in tow, Jennifer moves back in with her mother (Walter) and takes a job in the bar owned by her meek brother (Suplee) and passive-aggressive sister-in-law (Nora Kirkpatrick) as a last resort. There, she reunites with her former best friend (Pyle) who turns out to be holding quite a grudge. But every cloud has a silver lining: there’s nowhere to go but up.
Details on The Exes:
Finally, fan favorite The Exes returns on Wednesday, August 13th at 10:30pm ET/PT. Last season, Phil (Faison) and Eden (Stables) dated and broke up, Stuart’s (Basche) sister Nicki (recurring guest star Leah Remini) came to town and decided to stay – much to the delight of a smitten Haskell (Knight) – and Holly (Johnston), unfortunately, saw a turbulent love life. Though chaos reigns supreme in their lives, the group is able to rely on their own little modern family.
In one of the most evenly matched duets during this season’s battle rounds on The Voice, Sam Behymer and Cary Laine paired up to sing a beautiful rendition of “Give Me Love.” The song was so well delivered that their coach, Adam Levine, had a difficult time deciding whether to keep Sam or Cary.
Oscar-winner Russell Crowe takes on the title role in the Biblical epic Noah arriving in theaters on March 28, 2014 with plenty of hype, hoopla, and its fair share of controversy. And in support of the film’s theatrical release, Crowe discussed taking on the role and why he wanted to be a part of this film, researching the world of Noah, and getting the opportunity to see the Ark’s set for the first time. He also talked about reuniting with Jennifer Connelly, working with Ray Winstone who plays Tubal Cain, and being directed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler).
The Plot:
Noah is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood.
A family affair: L to R Rollo (Clive Standen), Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) in 'Vikings' (Photo Courtesy of History)
As Vikings continues its second season run, History announced they’ve picked the popular show up for a third season which will air in 2015. But before filming on that gets underway, there are still six new episodes left to air of season two.
On March 27th at 10pm ET/PT, episode five will debut with the worrisome title of “Answers in Blood.” Hopefully, that doesn’t mean a main character will be kicking the bucket!
The Plot of “Answers in Blood”
Lagertha and Ragnar unite once again and together fight to win Kattegat back from Jarl Borg. Aslaug must face the truth of her prophecies. Athelstan struggles to define his faith. Bjorn must once again make a choice.
The latest marketing email in support of The Signal warned that “continued exposure to The Signal has consequences.” The initial email announcing the trailer was equally as ominious, and kudos to Focus Features’ marketing people who’ve put this campaign together. Given the tone of the emails, it’s impossible not to pay attention to what they’re promoting. And following in the footsteps of the trailer’s release comes the official poster for the June 13, 2014 release.
The Plot:
Three college students on a road trip across the Southwest experience a detour: the tracking of a computer genius who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security faults. The trio find themselves drawn to an isolated area. Suddenly everything goes dark. When one of the students, Nic (Brenton Thwaites of The Giver and Maleficent), regains consciousness, he is in a waking nightmare…
Well, it’s actually more like the Lemur Hop than the Lemur Dance, but unfortunately I wasn’t in charge of naming the clip so dance it is. This 50-second video, which shows lemurs hoping around in the forest, is in support of Island of Lemurs: Madagascar (not to be confused with the animated Madagascar movies featuring a lemur king named Julien voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen).
Island of Lemurs: Madagascar opens in IMAX and IMAX 3D on April 4, 2014.
The Plot:
Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby) narrates the IMAX 3D® documentary Island of Lemurs: Madagascar, the incredible true story of nature’s greatest explorers—lemurs. The film reunites Freeman with Drew Fellman, who also wrote and produced the 2011 IMAX 3D documentary Born to Be Wild 3D, and director David Douglas, who served as director of photography on that film.
Juliette Binoche and Clive Owen in 'Words and Pictures'Roadside Attractions is releasing Words and Pictures with Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche in theaters on May 23, 2014 and they’ve just released this new trailer for the romantic dramatic which teams up Owen and Binoche for the first time. Directed by Fred Schepisi, Words and Pictures also stars Bruce Davison, Valerie Tian, Navid Negahban, Amy Brenneman, and Christian Scheider.
The Plot:
Prep school English teacher Jack Marcus (OWEN) laments his students’ obsession with social media and good grades rather than engaging with the power of the written word. A one-time literary star, Jack has not published in years filling his spare time with drink versus the art of language. He meets his match in Dina Delsanto (BINOCHE) — an abstract painter and new teacher on campus, who was once celebrated for her art. From the start, the two flirt and provoke each other with equal relish.
With a performance review looming and his teaching job on the line, Jack hatches an inspired plan for galvanizing student interest in their studies: he declares a war between Words and Pictures, confident that the former can convey greater meaning than the latter. Dina and her art students accept the challenge between Jack and his English students, and the battle lines are drawn.

Most of us eventually grow out of it, but some people need a little more help than others. Enter Danny Burton (Chris D’Elia). Confident, attractive and impervious to outside opinions, 29-year-old Danny — who may be in a state of arrested development himself — decides to help out his new roommate, Justin Kearney (comedian Brent Morin), the owner of an unsuccessful bar and a chronic overthinker, and Justin’s group of oddball friends — Shelly (comedian Ron Funches), Burski (comedian Rick Glassman) and Brett (David Fynn). Danny introduces the gang to his recently divorced older sister, Leslie (Bianca Kajlich), who immediately bonds with this group of guys, as she feels a little stuck in her own life as well. The gang spends most of their time at Justin’s bar, helping solve each other’s respective problems over beers, and while they love to give each other a hard time, they always have each other’s back.

To gain control of this fearsome society, assassin Tom Lowe is sent to the buccaneers’ haven to take down the brilliant and charismatic Blackbeard. But the closer Lowe gets, the more he finds that his quest is not so simple. Lowe can’t help but admire the political ideals of Blackbeard, whose thirst for knowledge knows no bounds, and no law. But Lowe is not the only danger to Blackbeard’s rule. He is a man with many rivals and one great weakness — a passionately driven woman whom he cannot deny.

Moving halfway around the world with a new love is a huge step and Bruce, with no job, friends or real clue about what he is getting himself into, is quick to face the many unique challenges and culture clashes that living in a foreign land presents — most notably, how to win over Emma’s strange and very Swedish family.
