David Tennant will be reprising his role as Detective Alec Hardy for an American remake of the critically acclaimed ITV series, Broadchurch. The series, which also aired on BBC America, was created and executive produced by Chris Chibnall who’ll also be working on the Fox remake.

Filming’s expected to start in January with Fox eyeing a premiere of the series as part of the 2014-2015 season. And with Tennant signed up for the American version, it’s unclear whether he’ll be back for the second season of the original British series. It’s also unclear whether the remake will retain the Broadchurch title.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chibnall said he’s hoping this American version will as good as or even better than the British version. “I’m very, very fascinated to see this story in a different landscape with an acting ensemble that’s just as strong but taken from really great American actors,” stated Chibnall. “The DNA of the original is absolutely intact and filtered through a new prism, so it should still feel just as vibrant, and interesting, and strange, and unique, and beautiful, but just in a different setting — and then it’s exploring the dramatic opportunities that that offers up. We’re not gonna do the terrible version. We’re gonna do a great version.”

T

he Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa Tagline: “Real people. Real reactions. Real messed up.”

This new clip from the October 25, 2013 theatrical release of Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa finds Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) helping his grandson with a mechanical ride placed outside of a store. The results are…as expected…disastrous.

The Plot:

86-year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companion, his 8-year-old Grandson Billy, in Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa. This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicoll) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera.

Along the way, Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term childrearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons, and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens.

Real people in unreal situations, making for one really messed up comedy.

Tom Clancy Passes Away at 66

Tom Clancy's Command Authority

Bestselling author Tom Clancy passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in a Baltimore hospital. The cause of Clancy’s death has not yet been disclosed. The author was 66.

Multiple sources, including Publishers Weekly and the New York Times, broke the news via Twitter.

Clancy introduced the world to Jack Ryan with 1984’s The Hunt for Red October. That novel was followed by Ryan books including Patriot Games (1987), The Cardinal in the Kremlin (1988), Clear and Present Danger (1989), The Sum of All Fears (1991), Debt of Honor (1994), Executive Orders (1996), The Bear and the Dragon (2000), and Red Rabbit (2002). A new Ryan book, Command Authority, is due out in early December.

Clancy was born on April 12, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. Due to issues with his eyesight, Clancy was unable to follow his childhood dream of entering the military and instead pursued writing. He attended Loyola College and majored in English, and while working as an insurance broker, he sold his first book (The Hunt for Red October) to the Naval Institute Press for $5,000.
