First Look: ‘K-11′ Trailer’ Starring Goran Visnjic

Twilight star Kristen Stewart’s mom, Jules, makes her feature film directorial debut with the dramatic thriller K-11. Set for a theatrical release on March 15, 2013, K-11 has a cast that includes Goran Visnjic, Kate del Castillo, Portia Doubleday, D.B. Sweeney, Jason Mewes, Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister, Tara Buck, and feature film newcomer Cameron Stewart.

The Official Synopsis:

Like Alice in a brutally violent Wonderland, music executive Ray Saxx, Jr. is trapped in K-11, a very unique part of the Los Angeles County Prison System. He was out cold when he arrived and he has no idea how he got there – all he knows is he needs to get the hell out…alive and intact. To do that Ray must navigate through a maze of drug addled-transvestite-criminal politics with obstacles at every turn. Insane cellmates, corrupt guards and his own issues are just a few of what he’s dealing with while he pieces together his means of release from this dark and dangerous rabbit hole – K-11.

Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four) falls in love with a zombie named ‘R’ in the zombie romantic comedy Warm Bodies. It’s an unusual love story, to say the least, and that was one of the reasons Palmer wanted to be a part of this film.

In this interview courtesy of Summit Entertainment, Palmer discusses her character, the film’s romantic storyline, and handling the action scenes – including the lab attack sequence that introduces her character to R (played by Nicholas Hoult) – in Warm Bodies.

Watch the video:

The Plot: After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human – setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

Warm Bodies hits theaters on February 1, 2013.

A Different Take on Anne Hathaway’s ‘Les Mis’ Performance

Whether you like Anne Hathaway or you’re part of that group of moviegoers who find her irritating, it’s impossible to deny that she’s pretty much a shoo-in to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance in Les Miserables. Which, of course, means we’ll see her take to the stage to deliver yet another acceptance speech which will be dissected and reviewed ad nauseam.

But for those Oscar-voting fence-sitters, there’s a new For Your Consideration video that deserves some attention. Emma Fitzpatrick soars as Anne Hathaway in this new take on “I Dreamed a Dream.”

Directed by Alberto Belli with new lyrics by Robert Hill, this version of “I Dreamed a Dream” finds ‘Anne Hathaway’ singing about her new haircut, the fact she lost half her body weight for the role and then they never did a wide shot, and how she recorded all her vocals live.

Love or hate the real song, this one’s worth a listen.

‘Who Let the Dogs Out’ Season 2 Details

Who Let the Dogs Out Season 2 Poster

Hallmark Channel’s bringing back Who Let the Dogs Out, the daytime reality series that shares a name with one of the most annoying songs ever. Season two of the series starring Tillman the Skateboarding Bulldog and his buddy Norman the Scooter Dog will premiere on February 1, 2013 at 1pm.

According to Hallmark, the dogs will once again be traveling America “in search of new recruits, unusual places to visit and fun experiences.” During season two, viewers will even go behind the scenes for a look at the first-ever national monument for an animal – The Military Working Dog Teams National Monument. If that sounds familiar, Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Pet Foods 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade float featured a replica of the monument, which is meant to honor our canine veterans.

The Military Working Dog Teams National Monument will be installed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas in October.

Marvel’s not going to be missing out on the chance to show off Iron Man 3 to Super Bowl audiences and will be delivering a new trailer during the big game. For now though, we’ve only got a 10-second tease to share. Bummer.

Coming to theaters on May 3, 2013, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley. Shane Black directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Drew Pearce.

DVD Review: ‘Best of Warner Bros – 20 Film Collection: Best Pictures’

Best of Warner Bros 20 Film Collection Best Picture REview

2013 is not only Warner Bros Pictures’ 90th anniversary as a studio, but also could be considered the Year of WB DVD Collections. The studio is putting their best films out in new collections, each geared to cover a specific genre or topic.

In stores on January 29th – timed to coincide with the awards season – is the 20 Film Collection: Best Pictures DVD set. The 20 film set is divided up into three subsets based on the year of release, with the third set titled The New Classics and featuring the studio’s most recent Best Picture winners: Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby, and Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

It’s fascinating to look back over not only the studio’s history but the history of film with these 20 Best Picture winners. The bonus features on each disc are bare-bones. However, the movies themselves are what cinephiles would be picking up this collection to view.

Most individual films in the set come with a commentary track, but there are a few that provide more than the basic extra material. Grand Hotel offers a documentary as well as theater announcements; Around the World in 80 Days has a commentary, outtakes, and newsreels; An American in Paris includes rare interviews and commentary; and Driving Miss Daisy has a commentary and three featurettes.

The Best Pictures collection also includes a 20-page booklet with one-paragraph descriptions and trivia on each of the Oscar-winning films.

ABC’s Debuting Motive This Summer

Motive is apparently not your typical crime drama. ABC’s just picked up the series for a 13-episode summer 2013 run and in doing so they describe the show as “focusing not on who did the crime, but why the crime was committed in the first place.”

The cast of the dramatic series includes Kristin Lehman, Louis Ferreira, Lauren Holly, Roger Cross, Brendan Penny, and Cameron Bright. The series was created by Daniel Cerone (Dexter) and executive produced by Cerone, Louise Clark, Rob Merilees, Erin Haskett, Rob LaBelle, Lindsay Macadam, and James Thorpe.

The Official Plot Details:

When murder is committed, Angie Flynn, a loving, single mother and a damned good detective, along with her partner, Detective Oscar Vega, are on the case, looking for clues that will lead them to the killer. But Motive turns the tried-and-true crime drama formula on its head by indentifying the killer and victim at the beginning of each episode. These storylines are then further explored via stylized flashbacks which piece together more of the mysterious connection between the two characters and what drove the killer to commit murder.

Pouch Joins the Cast of ‘Chicago Fire’

NBC’s Chicago Fire has added a new, pretty cast member. As if we needed another reason to tune in, the firefighters of Firehouse 51 have adopted a rescue puppy to be their station’s mascot. Tonight’s episode will introduce the new four-legged cast member, Pouch, who will be a regular on the show.

Chicago Fire executive producer and co-creator Derek Haas says Pouch – the character’s name as well as the dog’s real name – came by that name as a combination of half pooch/half couch. And Haas says that, contrary to popular belief, none of the actual Chicago firehouses they’ve visited has a spotted Dalmatian.

“We saw a dog like our Pouch while doing a ride-along with the Chicago Fire Department last summer,” said Haas. “A kid offered his dog to the firemen and said it was either going there, or it would have to go to the pound for adoption.”

“All firehouses have a million stories to tell about a firehouse dog, and we thought he would make a great addition. Pouch will literally grow up before our eyes. Plus, pets are great stress relievers, and firefighters and rescue squads are under tremendous pressure every day, so they will appreciate her presence as a working dog,” explained Haas.

Details on the January 30, 2013 Episode:

Firefighter Peter Mills (Charlie Barnett) discovers a wayward mutt and wants to keep him in the firehouse but is overruled by no-nonsense Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Mouch (Christian Stolte). Over time, the irresistible Pouch eventually is named and claimed by the entire fire-and-rescue team.
