Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence sat down with David Letterman for a wide-ranging interview that addressed everything from her “I beat Meryl” comment while she was accepting the Golden Globe to Lindsay Lohan’s response on Twitter to that photo of her butt that’s making the rounds. Is it hers or someone else’s?
According to Lawrence it’s a 90-year-old’s butt photoshopped onto her body.
But back to that Meryl Streep controversy… Lawrence said she was referencing a quote from First Wives Club and had no idea that Lindsay Lohan would go off on Twitter about the line.
And seriously, I have no idea how anyone could dislike Jennifer Lawrence. She’s honest, has no filter, and totally refreshing.

The SAG Awards recognize only the work of actors – you won’t see Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, etc awards distributed at this event. This is an awards organization that exclusively honors their own.

Anne Hathaway won a SAG Award as a member of the Brokeback Mountain cast and in 2009 for starring in Rachel Getting Married. It’s been 20 years since Dark Blood was shot and now the last film of actor River Phoenix will finally have a North American premiere. Phoenix was working on the film when he died (it had less than two weeks left to shoot) and director George Sluizer told The Hollywood Reporter back in October 2011 that it was finished and he hoped to have it released in 2012. It screened in 2012 at the Dutch Film Festival and will be getting its long-awaited North American premiere at the Miami International Film Festival. The festival, which runs March 1-10, 2013, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Phoenix was 23 when he passed away in 1993 of a drug overdose.
According to the Miami Film Festival announcement, Dark Blood was just two days away from being destroyed in 1999 when Sluizer rescued the film. After ten years of just sitting in storage, Sluizer finished it up and now it’s ready for the festival circuit.
“Dark Blood is a film of legend, one of Hollywood’s great mysteries,” stated MIFF Executive Director Jaie Laplante. “The tragic loss of River Phoenix’s outstanding talent is still profoundly felt 20 years later. We are proud that George Sluizer has honored Miami as the place to finally share his remarkable collaboration with Phoenix and the other great artists involved with Dark Blood.”
The Plot:
Jet-set Hollywood couple Harry (Jonathan Pryce) and Buffy (Judy Davis) travel through the desert on a second honeymoon, trying to save their marriage. Their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere leaving them to find shelter in Boy’s (Phoenix) beaten down shack, unaware they will become his prisoners. Boy’s wife died of leukemia after nuclear tests occurred in the desert leaving him alone and far away from society. Buffy is seduced by Boy’s honesty and vulnerabilities, while Harry represents everything Boy hates about the civilized world and its culture. Buffy decides to sleep with Boy to buy the couple’s freedom, but these circumstances will push Harry to the edge, leading to a terrible tragedy.

Heading to Video on Demand and DVD on January 29, 2013, noobz starring Jason Mewes (the ‘Jay’ of Jay and Silent Bob), Casper Van Dien, Moises Arias, and Zelda Williams has a new trailer which, frankly, doesn’t really give much of the plot of the film away. Written, directed and co-starring Blake Freeman, the film’s based on Freeman’s love of the gamer culture.
The Plot:
A gamer clan made up of three luckless, aging gamers and an asthmatic adolescent is forced to “frag up” and take a road trip to Los Angeles in order to enter the Cyberbowl Video Game Championships.
AMC and Fox Television have officially confirmed they’re resurrecting The Killing for a third season. And while that’s great news for fans of the series, it’s not such great news for fans of Billy Campbell and Michelle Forbes who reportedly will not be returning for more of The Killing.
Per the official announcement, Veena Sud will be returning as executive producer, writer, and showrunner. Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman will be back leading the cast. Season number three will begin production in February and will focus on a brand new case that will be “resolved over the course of 12 episodes.” That appears to be a promise, folks, so if they pull the old bait and switch on us, we have every reason to be angry.
AMC President Charlie Collier stated: “The Killing from day one has been a truly original take on the crime drama. Veena Sud and the rest of the talented creative team are hard at work shaping the lives of Linden and Holder, portrayed by the terrific Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman. We’re so pleased to welcome back The Killing for another season.”
“I couldn’t be happier to know that I will be returning to work with AMC, FTVS, and Mireille and Joel on what is and has always been a passion project for me. To the fans that have supported the series, thank you for doing so. My team and I will work hard to deliver the best story that we can for season three,” added Veena Sud.
The Basics of Season 3: A year after closing the Rosie Larsen case, Sarah Linden is no longer a detective. But when her ex-partner Stephen Holder’s search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden, she is drawn back into the life she thought she’d left behind.
Fringe is drawing to a close after five seasons with a two-hour finale episode airing on January 18, 2013. Starring Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown, and Jasika Nicole, the series finale airs at 8pm ET/PT on Fox.
The Plot:
The acclaimed series that has explored the human condition through the prism of parallel universes, unexplainable phenomena, and unimaginable threats reaches a milestone 100th episode and comes to an epic and climatic conclusion. First, the Fringe team engages a desperate plan as Olivia embarks on a dangerous and otherworldly journey into the unknown.
Then, Peter, Olivia, Walter, Astrid and Broyles face off against the Observers in one final and extraordinary battle for the fate of mankind. The five-season saga comes to an epic and emotional end in the special two-hour “Liberty/An Enemy of Fate” series finale episode.
The battle rages on as the Empire has issued a statement in response to the government’s denial of a petition to secure resources and funding and begin building a Death Star by 2016. The official White House response – titled “This Isn’t the Petition Response You’re Looking For” – claimed building a Death Star would not be possible for a wide variety of reasons including:
– The construction of the Death Star has been estimated to cost more than $850,000,000,000,000,000. We’re working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it.
– The Administration does not support blowing up planets.
– Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?
Paul Shawcross, author of the response and the Chief of the Science and Space Branch at the White House Office of Management and Budget, wrapped up his reply with: “We are living in the future! Enjoy it. Or better yet, help build it by pursuing a career in a science, technology, engineering or math-related field. The President has held the first-ever White House science fairs and Astronomy Night on the South Lawn because he knows these domains are critical to our country’s future, and to ensuring the United States continues leading the world in doing big things.
If you do pursue a career in a science, technology, engineering or math-related field, the Force will be with us! Remember, the Death Star’s power to destroy a planet, or even a whole star system, is insignificant next to the power of the Force.”
Now the Empire has fired a shot back, with a message posted on StarWars.com:
IMPERIAL CENTER, CORUSCANT – The overwhelming military superiority of the Galactic Empire has been confirmed once again by the recent announcement by the President of the United States that his nation would not attempt to build a Death Star, despite the bellicose demands of the people of his tiny, aggressive planet. “It is doubtless that such a technological terror in the hands of so primitive a world would be used to upset the peace and sanctity of the citizens of the Galactic Empire,“ said Governor Wilhuff Tarkin of the Outer Rim Territories. “Such destructive power can only be wielded to protect and defend by so enlightened a leader as Emperor Palpatine.”
Representatives on behalf of the nation-state leader from the unimaginatively named planet refused to acknowledge the obvious cowardice of their choice, preferring instead to attribute the decision to fiscal responsibility. “The costs of construction they cited were ridiculously overestimated, though I suppose we must keep in mind that this miniscule planet does not have our massive means of production,” added Admiral Conan Motti of the Imperial Starfleet.
Emissaries of the Emperor also caution any seditious elements within the Galactic Senate not to believe Earth’s exaggerated claims of there being a weakness in the Death Star design. “Any attacks made upon such a station – should one ever be built – would be a useless gesture,” added Motti.
