According to the network, Ink Master‘s 13-episode third season will premiere in the summer of 2013. Tattoo Nightmares, which debuted in October 2012, will offer viewers 26 new episodes in 2013.

Making the renewal announcement, Sharon Levy, Spike TV’s Executive Vice President, Original Series, said, “The real stakes and compelling drama that both Ink Master and Tattoo Nightmares deliver resonates with our ever-expanding audience.”
Details on Ink Master [Courtesy of Spike TV]:
Tattoo artists compete in various challenges that not only test their technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, where they must create and execute an original tattoo on a ‘human canvas.’ These ‘human canvases’ range from tattoo virgins to connoisseurs to those who want to cover up a prior tattoo misstep. The challenges focus on different tattooing techniques such as contrast, adaptability, balance and dimension as well as styles including New School, photorealism, American traditional and pin-up.
After every challenge the contestants face a tough panel made up of Navarro, Nunez, and Peck and a roster of guest judges. Each individual artists’ work is critiqued and one contestant is sent home. The masterpieces these artists create will last forever, but so will their mistakes.
Details on Tattoo Nightmares:
With more than 40 million Americans having at least one tattoo somewhere on their body, you are bound to come across bad permanent ink, ranging from hilarious tattoos to ones that are just downright disturbing pieces. The stakes are high as regretful clients go under the tattoo gun a second time to see if one of the three expert artists at Tattoo Nightmares (Big Gus, Tommy Helm and Jasmine Rodriguez) can work a miracle and turn their disaster pieces into masterpieces. Through re-enactments, clients reveal the stories behind how their dreadful ink came to be.

J.K. Rowling’s first adult book, The Casual Vacancy, will be made into a TV series. BBC One and BBC Drama have acquired Rowling’s bestselling novel, with Rowling collaborating on the project. BBC hasn’t determined how many episodes will make up the series which is expected to air in 2014.
In the official announcement, Rowling stated: “I’m thrilled that the BBC has commissioned The Casual Vacancy. I always felt that, if it were to be adapted, this novel was best suited to television and I think the BBC is the perfect home.”
BBC One Controller Danny Cohen added: “It is thrilling to be bringing the work of J.K. Rowling to BBC One audiences. J.K. Rowling’s story-telling is of course peerless in its popularity, and I am looking forward to collaborating with her. This project highlights the ambition and scale of BBC One Drama, as well as the ability of modern television to attract the world’s biggest talent and most exciting creative ideas.”
The Novel:
The Casual Vacancy is set in Pagford, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils… Pagford is not what it first seems.

On The Winner Is singing contestants from all across America are given the chance of a lifetime to win a huge sum of money in record time. Each duel sees two singers go head to head to give their ultimate performance. After each singing showdown, the studio audience votes for the best performer. Losing a duel means a player is out of the game. But before the winner is revealed the players must test their nerves by resisting a cash offer to leave the game for good. If they’re confident they performed better than their opponent, they can await the audience vote to see if they’ve made it to the next round and one step closer to the ultimate grand prize.
In the grand finale, eight episode winners continue to compete until just two amazing singing contestants remain. Then the two finalists must make a crucial decision. After their performance, they each get the chance to walk away with tens of thousands of dollars or they can risk that huge amount of cash by awaiting the audience vote for the chance to win a life-changing sum of money.
The contestants on The Winner Is need to be certain of their talent but should never underestimate their opponents as they’re literally asked to put their money where their mouth is.
