This is now my new favorite video on Funny or Die. Kellan Lutz is hilarious as Secret Agent Hashtag, a guy who can’t stop tweeting and who gives away his plans by being way too much into social media. Lutz, ‘Emmett’ from the Twilight films, actually proves he can do more than play a studly sparkling vampire who’s more brawn than brains with this very funny video.
It was only a matter of time, wasn’t it? Madonna’s still on the road with her MDNA tour and Korean pop star Psy is just about everywhere, so it’s no surprise the two actually got together for a “Gangnam Style” number during Madonna’s Madison Square Garden concert in New York City.
Madonna and Psy danced together to Psy’s hit “Gangnam Style” and also during Madonna’s “Music.”
Sony’s just debuted the first trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and as a fan of the book series it looks like they’ve done a decent job of transitioning book one of the Cassandre Clare’s Mortal Instruments series to the screen. Of course, trailers can be deceiving, but it appears they haven’t skimped on the sets or effects.
Lily Collins is fine as Clary while Jamie Campbell Bower – not exactly a fan favorite when it came to casting the role of ‘Jace’ – handles the action well.
The cast also includes Robert Sheehan, Lena Headey, Jared Harris, Jemima West, Kevin Segers, Kevin Durand, Godfrey Gao, and Robert Maillet.
The Plot:
Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.
The competition was fierce, however, no catfights broke out, and everyone kept their claws to themselves as they battled to be named the winner of a 2012 “The Friskies” award. Cute cats competed for votes with the ultimate goal of being named “Best Video,” but only one would emerge the year’s big winner. And that is…drumroll please…Oskar the blind kitty.
Oskar doesn’t let his lack of sight keep him down, attacking balls with bells inside just like every other kitty. Says the director of the video, Mick Szydlowski: “Oskar is completely blind, but he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. He’s healthy, he’s happy, he does everything a regular cat would do.”
Oskar’s video earned him the Best Video title and the $15,000 Grand Prize. He also took home the official Friskies Catuette and a year’s supply of Friskies® brand cat food.
Four other cat videos took home $2,500 each as well as a one-year supply of Friskies cat food:
— Catventure: “Cardboard Dreams” starring Milo, Otis, Barrett and Bates; Plano, Texas
— Catchall: “Kitty Plays Fetch” starring Nylah; Cherry Hill, N.J.
“This was an historic moment honoring the cats and people behind one of America’s most loved art forms,” said Shaun Belongie, Friskies® brand manager. “‘The Friskies’ awards show was memorable, quirky and fun, just like the finalists’ videos themselves.”
In addition to the awards, Friskies also donated 250,000 cans of cat food to cat rescue organizations, with 25 cat charities each receiving 10,000 cans.

Shania Twain arrives at Caesars Palace Las Vegas on horseback on Nov 14. (PRNewsFoto/The Colosseum at Caesars Palace) What happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas when what ‘happened’ happened as a publicity stunt. Singer Shania Twain arrived in style, leading 40 horses down the Las Vegas Strip as an early kick-off to her upcoming “Shania: Still the One” show opening for a two-year run on December 1st at Caesars Palace. The first-ever horse stampede stopped traffic as Twain made her way to The Colosseum.
This year’s tree is a Norway Spruce that stands about 80 feet high and is 50 feet in diameter. It’s estimated to be around 80 years old and weights about 10 tons.
Per NBC: “The tradition of the Rockefeller Christmas tree dates back to the Great Depression. First erected in 1933, the inaugural tree was decked with 700 lights and placed in front of the then eight-month-old RCA Building, now the GE Building. The Christmas tree gathering was enhanced in 1936 with the opening of the Rockefeller Plaza outdoor ice-skating pond. NBC-TV televised the tree lighting for the first time in 1951 on The Kate Smith Show and as part of the nationwide Howdy Doody television show from 1953-55.”
