Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks, ‘Effie Trinket’ in The Hunger Games series, and her husband Max Handelman have just increased their family by one. Elizabeth and Max just welcomed their second son, Mangus Mitchell Handelman, to the family. Mangus joins older brother Felix in keeping mom and dad busy.

Banks confirmed the news on her official website (be sure to subscribe if you’re a fan of Banks’ work):

“Like Felix, Magnus was born via gestational surrogate,” says Elizabeth. “This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. I am also so very thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible.

I now turn my attention to managing two boys under two. For which I am thankful. And all their poop. For which I am less thankful.”

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Max. Hopefully, the poop won’t be too overwhelming.

But scheming Juliette can’t wait to steal Rayna’s spotlight. Sharing a stage with that disrespectful, untalented, little vixen is the last thing Rayna wants to do, which sets up a power struggle for popularity. Could the undiscovered songwriting talent of Scarlett O’Connor (Clare Bowen) be the key to helping Rayna resurrect her career?

Complicating matters, Rayna’s wealthy but estranged father, Lamar Hampton (Powers Boothe), is a powerful force in business, Tennessee politics, and the lives of his two grown daughters. His drive for power results in a scheme to back Rayna’s handsome husband, Teddy, in a run for Mayor of Nashville, against Rayna’s wishes.

Blake Shelton’s ready to help fans ring in the holidays with his very first Christmas special airing on NBC on December 3, 2012 at 10pm. The Blake Shelton’s Not So Family Christmas special will feature Shelton’s close buddies Kelly Clarkson and Reba as well as one of Country’s favorite singers, Miranda Lambert, who just happens to be Blake’s wife.

Among the holiday tunes the Country stars will be performing are “Let It Snow,” “There’s a New Kid in Town,” “Oklahoma Christmas” and “Home.” The special will also include a duet with Blake’s mom, Dorothy Shackleford, who will be performing a song they wrote together: “Time for Me to Come Home.”

In addition, special guests Christina Aguilera, Larry the Cable Guy and Jay Leno will be featured in comedy skits.

“I love Christmas music,” stated Shelton, discussing his upcoming holiday special. “I listen to it year-round. I had always wanted to do a Christmas album so getting to do Cheers, It’s Christmas was exciting for me, and then to have NBC let me do a special around the CD, well, I still can’t believe it. I am so proud of the performances on the show, the skits are hilarious and the icing on the cake was having the opportunity to perform with my mom, a song we co-wrote together. Christmas has always been about family to me so having my mom and Miranda there — that made it Christmas.”

Shelton recently won the Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year awards at the CMAs. His latest album, Red River Blue, entered Soundscan’s Top Current Albums chart at #1 and his “Honey Bee” is the record-holder for the “fastest-selling digital platinum single for a male country solo artist.” Shelton has 11 #1 hits to date and none of his singles have peaked outside of the Top 10 since 2007.
