Yes, it’s basically a commercial for State Farm…but it’s also William Shatner singing about moist turkeys! There’s fire and explosions, and we just can’t resist watching it over and over again.

In a nutshell, Shatner and State Farm are promoting safe Thanksgivings with this short video, “Eat, Fry, Love: A Cautionary Tale” which dramatizes “an actual accident where the celebrity was burned in a turkey fryer mishap on Thanksgiving.”

According to State Farm, the original video – this is a remix – helped decrease cooking-related fire claims by half last Thanksgiving.

“I love to fry turkey and have been doing it for years but I am not immune to frying accidents,” says Shatner. “People need to remember that hot oil and turkey can be a dangerous combination.”

First Look: Ryan Gosling in ‘Only God Forgives’

Only God Forgives Poster

Filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn doesn’t post often to Twitter, but when he does, he normally has some film news. This time he posted to show off the first teaser poster for Only God Forgives. Only God Forgives reunites Winding Refn with his Drive leading man Ryan Gosling who looks pretty roughed up on this teaser poster. The cast also includes Kristin Scott-Thomas, Vithaya Pansringarm, and Yaya Ying.

Director Nicolas Winding Refn’s credits also include Pusher (and its sequels), Breeder, and Bronson. Refn’s behind the scenes team for Only God Forgives includes director of photography Larry Smith, editor Matthew Newman, production designer Beth Mickle, and costume designer Wasitchaya ‘Nampeung’ Mochanakul. Cliff Martinez reunites with filmmaker Winding Refn to handle the film’s score.

Only God Forgives is rated R for strong bloody violence including grisly images, sexual content and language. The drama’s set to open in theaters on May 22, 2013.

The Plot:

“Bangkok. Ten years ago Julian killed a cop and went on the run. Now he manages a Thai boxing club as a front for a drugs operation. Respected in the criminal underworld, deep inside, he feels empty.

When Julian’s brother murders a prostitute the police call on retired cop Chang – the Angel of Vengeance. Chang allows the father to kill his daughter’s murderer, then ‘restores order’ by chopping off the man’s right hand. Julian’s mother Jenna – the head of a powerful criminal organization – arrives in Bangkok to collect her son’s body. She dispatches Julian to find his killers and ‘raise hell’.

Increasingly obsessed with the Angel of Vengeance, Julian challenges him to a boxing match, hoping that by defeating him he might find spiritual release… but Chang triumphs. A furious Jenna plots revenge and the stage is set for a bloody journey through betrayal and vengeance towards a final confrontation and the possibility of redemption.”

Watch the announcement video:

More on Lumos:

Per the foundation: “Eight million children globally live in large institutions that deny them individual
love and care, can damage their brain development and destroy their understanding of right and wrong.”

“Less than 10% of these children are orphans. Most have families who love them and want
them, but they are separated because of poverty or discrimination. When they grow into
adults, they struggle to cope in society.”

More on Beedle the Bard:
