No strangers to the X Factor format, boy band One Direction will be taking the stage on the American version of the show on November 8, 2012. The group was discovered during the 2010 U.K. X Factor so it’s only fitting that they wind up on the U.S. version of the series where they’ll be singing two of their hits, “Little Things” and “Live While We’re Young.”
One Direction will perform during The X Factor‘s first live results show of the season. Following their performances, co-hosts Mario Lopez and Khloé Kardashian Odom will reveal the bad news as to which competitors won’t be sticking around.
“Having come from the U.K. X Factor, we can’t wait to perform on the U.S. stage – it’s going to be a great night!” said group member Zayn Malik.
“We’re really excited to be on the American X Factor,” added fellow member Niall Horan. “It’ll be the first time we’ve performed in front of ‘Uncle Si’ since we were on the U.K. X Factor. So, hopefully, we’ll make him proud!”
This Week on The X Factor:
November 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) – The X Factor heats up as the finalists, with the help of their mentors, take the stage once again. But this time, it will be up to America, as well as the judges, to decide who moves forward in the competition. Immediately after Wednesday’s performance show, fans will be able to vote via 1) Verizon Touch Voting on The Xtra Factor App on Verizon Android devices; 2) toll-free calling; 3) text messaging for Verizon Wireless customers; and 4) online at TheXFactorUSA.com. Fans with valid Facebook accounts can also vote at Facebook.com/TheXFactorUSA.

One Direction Coming to The X Factor
Elementary Gets a Prime Viewing Slot

The Details:
Elementary stars Miller as eccentric, mischievous detective Sherlock Holmes and Liu as Dr. Joan Watson, a former surgeon turned sober companion. Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, Sherlock escapes to Manhattan where his wealthy father forces him to live with his worst nightmare – a sobriety coach. Now running free in New York solving crimes, it’s simple deduction that he’s going to need someone to keep him grounded, and it’s elementary that it’s a job for Watson.
Also, Aidan Quinn stars as Capt. Thomas Gregson, who knows from previous experience working with Scotland Yard that Sherlock is brilliant at closing cases, along with Jon Michael Hill, who portrays Det. Marcus Bell, a top-notch investigator who is initially skeptical of Holmes and his unorthodox methods.

Maroon 5 Set to Perform on The Voice

Also hitting The Voice stage during the first live results show of the season will be season #2 champion Jermaine Paul. Paul will perform his debut single, “I Believe In This Life.”
The November 8th episode will narrow the field of competitors to just 12 artists, with two singers from each team having to say good-bye to their coach and the show. Per NBC: “In the first elimination show of the season, the two artists who receive the most viewer votes on each team from the previous nights’ Live Playoffs, will be saved and guaranteed a spot in the Monday, November 12 Live Show. Meanwhile, each coach is tasked with the difficult decision of choosing one more artist from the remaining three to move forward in the competition and perform in the next week’s Live Show, thereby eliminating the other artists.”

Are You Ready for ‘Deals from the Darkside?’

There’s absolutely no way I would bring any of these items into my home, but for people who like to collect unusual artifacts Syfy’s got a new series right up your alley. The relic-hunting reality series Deals from the Darkside premieres on November 7, 2012 at 10pm ET/PT.
Season one consists of 13 half-hour episodes featuring, according to Syfy, some of the “creepiest and most notorious antiques and relics in existence.” Items that collector Steve Santini comes in contact with during the series include a knife claimed to have been used by Jack the Ripper, a deck chair off the Titanic, and a real executioner’s sword.
The Plot:
Follow along as Santini, his sidekick Robert “Biker Rob” Duguay and researcher Stef Proctor travel far and wide to call on experts to prove that the artifacts are (or aren’t) what they’re claimed to be. When Santini isn’t driving a hard bargain for the real deal relics, he engages in his other passion – escapology. Santini, who’s been dubbed the world’s most extreme escape artist by Ripley’s Believe It or Not, works with dangerous materials such as machete blades, power drills and water chambers as he perfects his craft in this most unique of hobbies.
Upcoming Episodes:
“Titanic Deck Chair” – Wednesday, November 7 at 10 PM ET/PT
A seller approaches Steve Santini claiming to be in possession of an authentic deck chair salvaged from the Titanic. Santini’s quest to determine whether or not the chair is the real deal leads him to the world famous Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri.
“Houdini Handcuffs” – Wednesday, November 7 at 10:30 PM ET/PT
Steve Santini gets the rare chance to purchase Victorian handcuffs said to have been used by his idol, Harry Houdini. Santini’s efforts to authenticate the cuffs include a visit to Scranton, PA to hook up with some quirky Houdini experts and a pit stop at Houdini’s grave in Queens, New York.
Upcoming episodes this season involve a Mohawk axe and a shrunken head (November 14 at 10 PM), a “dark relics” auction where an executioner’s hood and an antique coffin are on the block (November 14 at 10:30 PM) and a replica Inquisition cloak that may turn out to be a bona fide original (November 21 at 10 PM).
