Parenthood Cast

NBC’s Parenthood has scored a big-name guest star. Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond, Men of a Certain Age) will be joining the fourth season of the show for a multi-episode arc starting with the season premiere. Per NBC, Romano will be playing “a photographer and former photo journalist who befriends Sarah (Lauren Graham) and complicates her relationship with Mark (Jason Ritter).”

Parenthood returns on September 11th at 10pm.

The Plot:

Parenthood is a one-hour drama inspired by the box-office hit of the same name. This re-imagined and updated Universal Television/Imagine Television production follows the trials and tribulations of the very large, very colorful and imperfect Braverman family.

Sarah Braverman (Lauren Graham) is a financially strapped single mother trying to raise two teenaged kids, the bright but rebellious Amber (Mae Whitman) and sullen and sensitive Drew (Miles Heizer).

On the home front, Sarah and her kids live with Sarah’s larger-than-life, headstrong father, Zeek (Craig T. Nelson), and pillar-of-strength mother Camille, (Bonnie Bedelia), who are continuously dealing with their own marital issues.

Meanwhile, Sarah’s sister and complete antithesis, Julia (Erika Christensen) is a successful corporate attorney trying to juggle work and motherhood, alongside her loving, but increasingly restless stay-at-home husband, Joel (Sam Jaeger). Having encountered difficulties getting pregnant, Julia and Joel enter into the complex world of adoption in an attempt to grow their family.

Commitment-phobe Crosby (Dax Shepard), Sarah’s younger brother, is helping raise a son he had out-of-wedlock with former flame Jasmine (Joy Bryant).

However, it’s Adam (Peter Krause), the oldest Braverman sibling, who has had to relinquish his expectations about what constitutes a “normal” family as he, his quietly forceful wife, Kristina (Monica Potter) and independent-minded teenage daughter, Haddie (Sarah Ramos), struggle to cope with their eccentric son and Haddie’s little brother, Max (Max Burkholder), who has Asperger’s Syndrome. Adam’s life gets even more complicated as he and Kristina discover they are unexpectedly expecting a third child

Although each sibling and family has its own share of life and everyday challenges to grapple with, they still manage to be there for each other in their hours of need.

Former Supreme Allied Commander Europe for NATO and former presidential candidate General Wesley Clark (ret.) and Samantha Harris will host the show which is set to debut on Monday, August 13th (8-10pm ET).

“We are honored to have a much-decorated and beloved military figure such as General Clark joining Stars Earn Stripes. The general’s legendary record in the U.S. armed forces commands respect as he brings so much practical knowledge that will infuse the show with priceless insight,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC. “Our cast is ready to be put to the test – using the same physical and mental challenges that prepare our nation’s bravest men and women to defend our nation – and their arduous journey will make for riveting television.”

“I am thrilled to join Stars Earn Stripes as host and look forward to watching the celebrity cast members test themselves as they step up to take on these tough challenges,” said Clark. “This new series pays tribute to members of our dedicated armed forces and civil law enforcement and I know that the winnings, which will be donated to first-responder charity and veterans’ groups, will make a difference and send an important message.”

How It Works:

“The eight competitors will gather at a remote training facility where they will tackle complicated and difficult missions that are inspired by real military exercises. Each will be paired with an “operative” who is a member or a former member of our armed forces or law enforcement agencies. The operative will coach and guide their celebrity teammate on their training and each of their missions and will compete along-side them. From helicopter drops to long range weapons fire – the competitors will be tested physically and emotionally as they play to win and to earn a cash prize for military, veterans and first-responder based charities. Each week one of the teams will be eliminated.”
