Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were surrounded by some of the supporting cast of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (but not Robert Pattinson or any of the actors who play the Cullens) on stage at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards when they accepted the Movie of the Year trophy. Stewart still hasn’t gotten used to actually delivering an acceptance speech, however, Lautner handled it well.
And take heart all you people who are tired and over & done with all things Twilight: there’s only one film left to go.
Official Synopsis: In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), plus those they love, must deal with the chain of consequences brought on by a marriage, honeymoon, and the tumultuous birth of a child…which brings an unforeseen and shocking development for Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).
Starz made a surprising announcement this morning, one that left Spartacus fans feeling a little blue. The network says this upcoming third season of Spartacus – now officially known as Spartacus: War of the Damned – will be the final season of the show.
Spartacus will conclude with a 10-episode third season set to premiere in January 2013.
The groundbreaking Starz series had more than six million weekly viewers last season and is shown in 150 different countries (in 15 languages).
Announcing the conclusion of Spartacus, creator and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight stated: “The fans have been tremendously supportive of our show. We did not come to this decision lightly. It was an extremely difficult and emotional decision for my partners and I. Yet, in the end, the story was best served by rolling all of the remaining action and drama of Spartacus’ journey into one stunningly epic season that will be extremely satisfying for everyone who’s been along for the ride.”
“Steven DeKnight, Rob Tapert, Josh Donen, and Sam Raimi have made one of the most groundbreaking shows we have ever seen,” said Starz CEO Chris Albrecht. “Spartacus is a landmark series for the network which has enthralled millions of viewers and fans around the world. We are in agreement with our partners in the decision to conclude the story after ‘War of the Damned,’ as we believe it is the best way to maintain the integrity of the series and secure its legacy. While everyone may know the fate of Spartacus, we believe this will be a spectacular season that will startle, amaze and honor the legions of fans.”
The Plot: Spartacus: War of the Damned, currently in production in New Zealand, takes place following the defeat of Roman commander Gaius Claudius Glaber. Spartacus and his men have amassed major victories against the Romans after the Battle of Vesuvius. These victories have not only forged the legend of Spartacus, but have greatly increased the ranks of the rebellion slaves to more than 30,000. Rome is indeed beginning to tremble at the threat Spartacus now represents.
Spartacus: War of the Damned sees the return on Liam McIntyre (Spartacus), Manu Bennett (Crixus), Dustin Clare (Gannicus), Dan Feuerriegel (Agron), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Naevia) and Ellen Hollman (Saxa). This year, Todd Lasance joins the cast as Gaius Julius Caesar, along with Simon Merrells, who will be playing Marcus Crassus and Anna Hutchison as Laeta.

Channing Tatum was ready to take off his clothes while handing out the Best On-Screen Transformation award, however his Magic Mike co-star Matthew McConaughey stopped him before Tatum could actually show some flesh. Then Tatum and McConaughey’s fellow Magic Mike stripper, Joe Manganiello, really made temperatures rise as he helped winner Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) celebrate her victory.
Manganiello came out shirtless, dressed as a fireman, and showed off a few of the sexy moves he learned while playing a stripper. Seriously, who wouldn’t want to get carried off stage in those arms?
It was up to Emma Watson to represent the huge ensemble cast of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on stage at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, and she handled her acceptance duties with style and grace. Watson took to the stage to accept the Best Cast award, thanking the fans on behalf of her missing co-stars, in particular Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
She couldn’t be at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards in person, but at least Jennifer Lawrence did tape a message thanking fans of The Hunger Games for their support. The video aired after Lawrence was announced as the winner of the Best Female Performance award by Snow White and the Huntsman co-stars, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth.
Josh Hutcherson and his onscreen The Hunger Games nemesis Alexander Ludwig (‘Cato’) accepted the award for Best Fight at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards held in Los Angeles on June 3rd. Ludwig and Hutcherson briefly talked about the stunt work on the film before thanking everyone for their support.
Emma Watson (forever known to millions of muggles as ‘Hermione Granger’ from Harry Potter), Logan Lerman, and Ezra Miller were on hand at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards to show off this trailer for The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Heading to theaters on September 14th, the coming-of-age tale was directed by Stephen Chbosky and features Paul Rudd, Mae Whitman, and Nina Dobrev.
The Plot:
A funny and touching adventure based on a best-selling novel that has sold over a million copies in the U.S. and has been published in 16 countries and 13 languages, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a modern classic about a shy, sensitive teenager caught between trying to live his life and escape it.
