AFI Master Class: The Art of Collaboration – David O. Russell and Mark Wahlberg – Tuesday, May 8, at 10 p.m. (ET)
In its continuing series of specials exploring some of the greatest artistic collaborations in film today, TCM and the American Film Institute (AFI) next focus on actor-producer Mark Wahlberg and director-writer-producer David O. Russell, who discuss their collaborations in front of an audience comprised of AFI Fellows studying filmmaking at the world-renowned AFI Conservatory. Their work together includes the Iraq-set drama Three Kings (1999), which co-starred Wahlberg, George Clooney and Ice Cube, and The Fighter (2010), with Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Melissa Leo.
This one-hour special is packed with clips from both men’s careers, as well as from movies that have inspired them, including It’s A Wonderful Life (1946) and Man of a Thousand Faces (1957). It is the second installment of AFI’s Master Class series, which debuted in 2011 with the collaboration between master filmmaker Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams and included film clips and discussion ranging from Jaws (1975) to Schindler’s List (1993) and On the Waterfront (1954) to Amadeus (1994).
Untitled Richard D. Zanuck Documentary – Premiering September 2012
This inspiring portrait of a cinema icon will examine the different facets of prolific producer Richard D. Zanuck, whose credits include Steven Spielberg’s Jaws (1975), Sidney Lumet’s The Verdict (1982), Ron Howard’s Cocoon (1985) and Bruce Beresford’s Oscar®-winning Best Picture Driving Miss Daisy (1989), as well as Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes (2001), Big Fish (2003), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and the upcoming Dark Shadows (2012).

A Night at the Movies: Hollywood Goes to Washington – Premiering October 2012
As America heads into the voting booth to select a president, TCM will dive into the political fray with this look at how Hollywood treats the democratic process. Beginning with a defining film Frank Capra’s Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), this latest installment in TCM’s A Night at the Movies series will explore how filmmakers have approached the touch subject of politics, including films about political campaigns, political conspiracies, and political figures.
The special will examine such classic films as All the King’s Men (1949), The Last Hurrah (1958), Advise & Consent (1962), The Candidate (1972), All the President’s Men (1976), Reds (1981), and many others. A Night at the Movies: Hollywood Goes to Washington is produced by Amblin Television and award-winning filmmaker and author Laurent Bouzereau, with Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey (TNT’s Falling Skies) serving as executive producers.

“You don’t wanna know what I have to do for $20s…” Oh yes, we do, Channing Tatum. Oh yes, we do.
The first trailer for the male stripper film Magic Mike has arrived and although we do see a little flesh, we only get to see a very brief glimpse at the film’s hunks dancing on stage at a club. Oh well, the trailer is supposed to just tease us.
Check out Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, and Matthew McConaughey in this first look at Magic Mike:
Magic Mike was inspired by Tatum’s real-life experiences as a stripper back before he tackled dancing on the big screen in Step Up. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Magic Mike will dance into theaters on June 29, 2012.
Chiller’s original movie, Dead Souls, has started filming in Canterbury, Connecticut. John Doolan adapted Michael Laimo’s book; Colin Theys is directing. Chiller’s planning an October premiere of the horror film.
Dead Souls stars Jesse James (The Amityville Horror), Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Magda Apanowicz (The Butterfly Effect), Noah Fleiss (Brick), Jaiden Kaine (Hellbenders), and Geraldine Hughes (Rocky Balboa).
The Plot:
On his 18th birthday, Johnny Petrie learns he was adopted when he inherits a farm in Maine, abandoned for the 18 years since his natural family died at the hands of his father, the local preacher. Eager for a new life, he leaves home to start over in his new dwelling. However, as he digs into his past, he soon uncovers the horrifying details of his father’s questionable teachings.
In a frightening revelation, he also learns that his return has revived decades-old forces trapped in the home and sets in motion a heart-stopping finale to a ritual that already claimed the lives of his family.

According to Fandango, men are most excited about checking out The Avengers while women are most interested in watching Snow White and the Huntsman (and, coincidentally, both movies feature Chris Hemsworth). The online movie ticketing service recently conducted a survey of thousands of moviegoers to find out which summer release is on their must-see list, with women opting for the fairy tale drama while men went for the full-on action movies The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.
“It’s clear from the Fandango survey that there’s something for both men and women at the movies this summer,” said Fandango Editor-in-Chief Chuck Walton. “After an incredible first quarter, Hollywood is delivering even more spectacular choices for moviegoers in what’s shaping up to be one of the biggest summers in years. As our survey indicates, all eyes will be on Chris Hemsworth. The Australian heartthrob, who stars as ‘Thor’ in The Avengers and as the male lead in Snow White and The Huntsman, sits atop both the men’s and women’s ‘Most Anticipated’ lists.”
Men’s Picks for Most Anticipated Summer Movie:
1. “The Avengers” 31%
2. “The Dark Knight Rises” 23%
3. “The Bourne Legacy” 14%
4. “Men in Black 3” 8%
5. “Prometheus” 7%
Women’s Picks for Most Anticipated Summer Movie:
1. “Snow White and the Huntsman” 22%
2. “The Avengers” 16%

'Glee' Cast Breaks Own Record With 200 Entries on Billboard Hot 100. (PRNewsFoto/Columbia Records)
This is one record unlikely to be broken – at least not anytime soon…
The Glee cast has become the first and only act to have 200 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Columbia Records. Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” was the first Glee song to make the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2009, and in 2010 they broke The Beatles’ record of 71 entries on the Hot 100 list. In 2011, they broke Elvis Presley’s record of 108 songs and became the record holder for “most entries in Billboard’s 54-year history.”
Recently, Glee‘s version of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” sold 170,000 tracks in just two weeks. Altogether, the cast has sold an incredible 43 million songs.

TMZ broke the news that Dick Clark, TV producer and former host of American Bandstand and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, has died at the age of 82. Clark, nicknamed “America’s Oldest Teenager” because he never seemed to age, passed away as the result of a massive heart attack on April 18, 2012.
In TMZ’s breaking news report, Clark was reportedly at St John’s Hospital in Los Angeles (following an outpatient procedure on April 17th) when he suffered a heart attack and was unable to be revived.
Clark suffered a stroke back in 2004 and, as a result, had been forced to slow down his work in front of the camera.
He is survived by his wife, Kari Wigton, and three children. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
