Apple TV+’s Lady in the Lake starring Oscar-winner Natalie Portman (Black Swan) will premiere on Friday, July 19, 2024 with the release of the first two episodes. The limited series, based on Laura Lippman’s 2019 New York Times bestseller, was announced by the streaming service in March 2021 and has author Lippman involved as an executive producer.

Emmy nominee Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) stars alongside Portman. The cast of the seven-episode series includes Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.

“When the disappearance of a young girl grips the city of Baltimore on Thanksgiving 1966, the lives of two women converge on a fatal collision course. Maddie Schwartz (Portman), a Jewish housewife seeking to shed a secret past and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist, and Cleo Johnson (Ingram), a mother navigating the political underbelly of Black Baltimore while struggling to provide for her family,” reads Apple TV+’s synopsis. “Their disparate lives seem parallel at first, but when Maddie becomes fixated on Cleo’s mystifying death, a chasm opens that puts everyone around them in danger. From visionary director Alma Har’el, Lady in the Lake emerges as a feverish noir thriller and an unexpected tale of the price women pay for their dreams.”

Har’el created the series and serves as writer, executive producer, and director. Additional executive producers include Natalie Portman, Sophie Mas, Christopher Leggett, Lyne Eskridge, Amy Kaufman, and Boaz Yakin. Crazyrose’s Nathan Ross and the late Jean-Marc Vallée also executive produce, along with Bad Wolf America’s Julie Gardner.

‘The Outlaws’ Season 3 Trailer: Is Rani a Stone-Cold Killer?

Prime video’s The Outlaws season three trailer reveals that Rani’s on the run and wanted for murder. Her garbage-collecting cohorts aren’t sure if she’s always been crazy or if she’s just misunderstood, but Greg’s pretty sure about one thing: Rani couldn’t look more guilty if she was walking around wearing an “I Heart Stabbing” T-shirt.

The trailer shows the group of bumbling criminals turning to Frank, the one man who might actually be able to keep them out of jail.

Stephen Merchant (The Office) created the series and writes, directs, executive produces, and stars as Greg. Season three also stars Rhianne Barreto (No Escape) as Rani, Gamba Cole (Soon Gone: A Windrush Chronicle) as Ben, Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer) as Diane, and Darren Boyd (Killing Eve) as John.

Clare Perkins (The Wheel of Time) plays Myrna, Eleanor Tomlinson (The Couple Next Door) is Lady Gabby, Charles Babalola (Black Mirror) is Malaki, Tom Hanson (Brassic) is Spencer, and Christopher Walken (Dune: Part Two) returns as fan-favorite Frank.

As a murder manhunt closes in on the gang, can they prove their innocence before The Dean’s case collapses, and he comes looking for revenge?”

Elgin James (Mayans M.C.) co-created the series, with Luke Alkin, Kenton Allen, Matthew Justice, and John Butler executive producing.

Prime Video drops all five season three episodes on May 31, 2024.

‘Despicable Me 4’ Trailer Introduces the Mega Minions

Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 isn’t settling for regular weirdo minions. Instead, the strange little yellow dudes are getting pumped up with a super-serum that transforms them into Mega Minions.

Steve Carell returns to the franchise as Gru, Kristen Wiig’s back as Lucy, and Miranda Cosgrove returns as Margo. Will Ferrell and Sofia Vergara join the fun as Maxime Le Mal and Valentina. The Equalizer Series Description, Courtesy of CBS:

The Equalizer is a reimagining of the classic series starring Academy Award nominee and multi-hyphenate Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA operative to help those with nowhere else to turn. McCall presents to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is The Equalizer – an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.

Robyn’s clandestine work and her personal life collide when her smart and observant daughter, Delilah, and her aunt Vi, who lives with Robyn to help her balance life as a working mother, discover her secret career as a vigilante. While Robyn contends with uncertainty at home, she is joined in her pursuit of justice by Melody “Mel” Bayani, an edgy bar owner and sniper from Robyn’s past; and Harry Keshegian, a paranoid and brilliant white-hat hacker.

As Robyn aids the oppressed and exploited, she sometimes works with Marcus Dante, an NYPD detective who once sought to uncover her identity, but now respects the need for Robyn’s type of justice even as he often questions her methods.

Blue Bloods Series Description, Courtesy of CBS:

Blue Bloods is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner, and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as chief.

A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son, Danny, a seasoned detective, family man, and Iraq War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his partner Detective Maria Baez. Erin, the middle daughter, is a New York assistant D.A. who serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, a Harvard Law graduate, and the family’s golden boy. Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and follow in the family footsteps as a cop. He’s found a friend and ally in his wife, Eddie, who keeps him on his toes and has very different reasons than the Reagans for joining the police force.
