Documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, his producing partner Jeremy Chilnick, and their production company (Warrior Poets) are looking to cast their latest project, The Failure Club, a non-fiction series scheduled to begin filming this fall. Spurlock’s group is searching for New Yorkers who want to change their lives, with the ultimate goal of broadcasting the series across the Yahoo! Network video site.

The ideal candidates are adults over the age of 21 “with specific unfulfilled goals that they have always wanted to try, but never had the courage to attempt on their own.” Casting is currently underway, with auditions closing on September 24th. For more details, visit www.warriorpoetscasting.com.

What’s The Failure Club?

The Failure Club is about embracing the fear of failure in order to change your life. There are too many things we never try simply because we’re too afraid to fail. But what would you do if you could move beyond that fear? Meeting each week over the course of a year, seven different people will come together to form this unique “club” where they will encourage each other to achieve the things they’ve only dreamed of.

From the mother who always wanted to start a restaurant to the banker who always wanted to do stand-up comedy to the young athlete who never got his shot at the pros – together, each member of the failure club will try to make his/her dream come true. Some will succeed and some will fail, but the journey they take together will change them forever.”

What to Be a Rock Star?

The Queen Extravaganza

Queen drummer/songwriter/singer Roger Taylor is looking for vocalists and musicians in order to “assemble the most talented band to perform Queen’s music, outside of Queen themselves, of course, to carry on the celebration.” Taylor’s just launched a talent search with those chosen given the opportunity to star in the Queen Extravaganza Live Tour in 2012.

Taylor’s actively involved in the Extravaganza, serving as producer and music director.

“The Queen Extravaganza will not be a traditional tribute show. It’s a brand-new show specially designed to enable fans to celebrate the music of Queen in a heart-stopping event,” explained Taylor, adding, “It’s going to be spectacular. It’s going to be very visual, there are going to be some shocks and some tremendous surprises. It will be a rock celebration in the royal tradition.”

Auditions began yesterday and are open to vocalists, guitarists, drummers, bass players, and keyboard players, according to the official press release. Taylor’s searching for musicians to make up a 5-piece band as well as three vocalists. For more details, visit queenextravaganza.com.

The scoop on the auditions: “The audition process involves two video audition rounds to be judged by both a panel of appointed judges and the public. Taylor will be present to judge the final audition round, which will be held live in Los Angeles in early December. In addition, VEVO, the world’s leading music video and entertainment platform, will unveil exclusive content from each audition round as well as and The Queen Extravaganza finals.”

Taylor said, “There are great musicians everywhere, and this is a really exciting challenge for us to try and unearth some of those musicians from the US.”

More on Roger Taylor and Queen [Courtesy of Hollywood Records]:

Together with bandmates Brian May, John Deacon, and the unforgettable Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor brought a new dimension to live music. The band has released a total of 18 chart-topping albums and 18 #1 singles while selling more than 300 million albums worldwide, making them one of the biggest rock acts of all time. They’ve received seven Ivor Novello awards in the U.K., were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003, the UK Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and even received their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in October 2002.

As the centerpiece in the 40th anniversary celebration, Queen’s entire 15-album studio catalog is being reissued in a series of deluxe editions. Every note is being tweaked, every piece of artwork is being cleaned, freshened up and resourced, wherever necessary, with the legendary Bob Ludwig doing the remastering, working from the original source material.

The first installment, comprised of the first five LPs (QUEEN, QUEEN II, SHEER HEART ATTACK, A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, A DAY AT THE RACES) was released May 17, the second installment (NEWS OF THE WORLD, JAZZ, THE GAME, FLASH GORDON, HOT SPACE) was just released on September 13 and the final installment is set to come out later this year.

September 5th would have been legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday. To mark the occasion, Queen streamed their historic 1986 concert Queen Live At Wembley Stadium for 48 hours on YouTube. Stars such as Katy Perry, members of Foo Fighters and My Chemical Romance took to YouTube to present video tribute to Mercury. The entire two day celebration garnered over 4 million views.

Google also paid tribute by posting worldwide a rare and extraordinary tribute to Freddie Mercury with a very special Google doodle on its homepage. The animated Google doodle was created to celebrate the life and talents of the legendary Queen frontman. The worldwide tribute from Google is something that doesn’t happen very often. Google has previously run video doodles for other legendary entertainers including John Lennon.

The CW’s popular vampire series The Vampire Diaries will return for season four on October 11, 2012. Nina Dobrev returns as Elena Gilbert/Katherine Pierce, Paul Wesley is back as Stefan Salvatore, and Ian Somerhalder stars as Damon Salvatore.

The cast also includes Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert, Daniel Gillies as Elijah, Joseph Morgan as Klaus, Kat Graham as Bonnie Bennett, Candice Accola as Caroline Forbes, Zach Roerig as Matt Donovan, Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood, and Matt Davis as Alaric Saltzman.

The Plot: Returning for its fourth season, The Vampire Diaries is the story of two vampire brothers, obsessed with the same girl, in a small town where supernatural beings live in secret amongst its residents. In season one, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), returned to their hometown of Mystic Falls, Virginia, for very different reasons. Stefan was determined to get to know Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who bears a striking resemblance to Katherine Pierce (also played by Dobrev), the beautiful but ruthless vampire the brothers knew and loved — in 1864.

Damon, on the other hand, was intent on releasing Katherine from the tomb where he believed she was trapped by a witch’s spell all those years ago. The explosive season finale set a plan in motion that resulted in Katherine’s return.

Season three revealed the history of Klaus and The Original Family, as well as the surprising friendship Klaus and his sister Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) shared with Stefan decades earlier. Klaus’ return led to Stefan’s descent back to his violent “Ripper” ways. Elena and Damon worked to bring Stefan back from the edge, even as they struggled with the guilt of their growing bond.

Meanwhile, Klaus found himself irresistibly drawn to Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola), forcing her boyfriend, the werewolf Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino), to break his sire-bond to Klaus and claim Caroline as his own. A new threat to the Original siblings came from their own mother, Esther (guest star Alice Evans), who was determined to rid the world of the plague of vampires. Using witchcraft and the unwilling help of Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham), Esther turned Alaric into a powerful vampire whose only mission was to hunt down and destroy other vampires – the ultimate vampire hunter.

Esther also linked Elena’s life to Alaric’s, making it impossible to kill Alaric while Elena is alive. In the chilling season finale, Elena’s longtime friend Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) tried to get Elena out of town to keep her safe, but Rebekah took matters into her own hands and caused Matt’s truck to plunge off a bridge, trapping Matt and Elena underwater. Despite Stefan’s attempts to save them both, he was only able to get Matt to the surface in time, and Elena drowned, causing Alaric’s death as well.

Devastated by this unthinkable loss, Stefan, Damon and all their friends soon discover another horrible truth – thanks to the well-meaning efforts of Dr. Meredith Fell (guest star Torrey DeVitto), Elena died with vampire blood in her system.

Season Four begins with the knowledge that everything is in transition. Elena faces her worst nightmare when she awakens after the accident and finds she must now endure the terrifying transition to become a vampire – or face certain death. Stefan and Damon are torn even further apart over how to help Elena adjust to a life she never wanted, and everyone has to cope with the chaos Alaric created when he outed the vampires and their supporters to the Mystic Falls Council and local church leaders.

Despite everything that has happened to them, as Elena and her friends enter into the final stretch of high school before graduation sends them off on different paths, they feel the bond to their hometown of Mystic Falls take on a deeper meaning when a new mysterious villain is introduced who seems intent on destroying it.

It seems everyone wanted to know what happened to Charlie Sheen’s character and how Ashton Kutcher would handle taking over one of the lead roles in Two and a Half Men. The ninth season premiered to huge numbers, with over 27.8 million viewers tuning in to see how the show would handle the transition from Sheen to Kutcher.

The premiere marked the show’s highest-rated episode to date, with the Two and a Half Men premiere registering a 10.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a 12.2 rating among viewers 25-54. Kutcher was introduced as billionaire Walden Schmidt, a sad-sack of a man who shows up on Alan Harper’s (Jon Cryer) back porch after trying to drown himself following a devastating breakup with his girlfriend. He’s handsome and a billionaire, but for some reason he doesn’t think he has a reason to go on – or that he’ll ever find another woman. Seriously?
