Directed by Brett Ratner, Tower Heist is set for a November 4, 2011 release.

The Plot: Queens native Josh Kovacs (Stiller) has managed one of the most luxurious and well-secured residences in New York City for more than a decade. Under his watchful eye, nothing goes undetected. In the swankiest unit atop Josh’s building, Wall Street titan Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda) is under house arrest after being caught stealing two billion from his investors. The hardest hit among those he defrauded? The tower staffers whose pensions he was entrusted to manage.

With only days before Arthur gets away with the perfect crime, Josh’s crew turns to petty crook Slide (Murphy) to plan the nearly impossible…to steal what they are sure is hidden in Arthur’s guarded condo. Though amateurs, these rookie thieves know the building better than anyone. Turns out they’ve been casing the place for years, they just didn’t know it.

The Who Set to Release ‘Quadrophenia: The Director’s Cut’ Boxed Set

The Who will release Quadrophenia: The Director’s Cut Box Set in November 2011, with Pete Townshend calling Quadrophenia The Who album he’s most proud of. The rock opera follows the story of Jimmy, a young mod, and his struggle to come of age in the mid-1960s. The story also takes its influence from the band’s early fans from the original mod era, and its themes of teenage angst and disaffection still resonate strongly today.

One of the most popular albums of The Who’s discography, Quadrophenia reflected the four characters of The Who and contains some of Townshend’s best and most personal songwriting.

“This 2011 revisit to The Who’s 1973 Quadrophenia recording is inspired by current and continuing interest in the project,” explained Townshend. “The Who performed a concert version of the piece at the Royal Albert Hall in 2010 for the Teenage Cancer Trust with excellent reviews, and the success of that event led to the prospect of a Who tour in 2012 based on the album. The last such tour was between 1996-1997.”

Universal Music Enterprises is planning a November release of the box set which will include a remaster of the original double album, Pete Townshend’s previously unheard demos including songs that didn’t make it onto the original album, an exclusive eight-track 5.1 sound DVD, a deluxe hardback book, previously unseen personal notes, photographs, memorabilia as well as other material still to be announced.

Red Tails, a film that’s been a passion project of George Lucas’ for years, has finally nabbed a release date. The Lucasfilm Ltd production inspired by the heroic exploits of the first all-African-American aerial combat unit will hit theaters on January 20, 2012, under the 20th Century Fox banner.

Anthony Hemingway (Treme, The Wire, Battlestar Galactica) directed the World War II action epic with Rick McCallum and Charles Floyd Johnson producing, and George Lucas executive producing.

“I am humbled and honored to direct the story of the Tuskegee Airmen – heroes who have paved the way so others could have the opportunity to pursue their dreams,” stated Hemingway. “To be selected by George Lucas and Rick to direct this film was more than my wildest dreams come true. It’s been a blessing to work with them, along with the amazingly talented artists at Industrial Light & Magic. I’ve grown a lot on many levels from this experience. As director, I had the fortune to work with a highly skilled crew from the Czech Republic, U.K., and the U.S., along with a remarkably talented group of actors. The resonant beauty, strength and dedication of our heroes is reflected in the powerful ensemble cast.”

“I’ve wanted to do this film for a great many years,” said Lucas. “So it is especially gratifying to see it all come together. It has been a real pleasure to work with Anthony and the extraordinary cast on a project that we all passionately believe in. The Tuskegee Airmen were such superb pilots that it was essential for us to create visual effects that would live up to their heroism and put audiences in the cockpit with them. They were only in their early 20s when they performed these amazing feats. They became the best of the best—the top guns. It is an honor to bring to the screen a story inspired by their heroics.”

The Red Tails cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire), Oscar nominee Terrence Howard (Crash), Emmy winner Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Nate Parker (The Secret Life of Bees, The Great Debaters), David Oyelowo (The Last King of Scotland, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and Tristan Wilds (90210).

The cast also includes Grammy Award winner Cliff Smith aka Method Man (The Wire), Kevin Phillips (Pride), Rick Otto (The Wire), Lee Tergesen (Monster), Andre Royo (Heroes), Grammy Award winner Ne-Yo (Stomp the Yard), Elijah Kelley (Hairspray), Marcus T. Paulk (Take the Lead), Leslie Odom Jr. (Grey’s Anatomy), Michael B. Jordan (Friday Night Lights, Chronicle) and Daniela Ruah (NCIS).

Red Tails Synopsis:

1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options – including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country – and the fate of the free world.

Molly Parker (Deadwood, Swingtown) has signed on to the cast of NBC’s legal drama The Firm, so says NBC, Entertainment One (eOne), Sony Pictures Television Networks and Global Television. Parker will be playing Abby McDeere in the show based on the bestselling novel by John Grisham.

Here’s the scoop on Abby, per NBC: “Ten years ago, Abby helped her husband Mitchell McDeere (Josh Lucas, The Lincoln Lawyer, Sweet Home Alabama) bring down a Memphis law firm that was a front for the Chicago mob. Her life was never the same. Abby’s a true partner to Mitch — a smart, resourceful woman who after a tumultuous decade is excited to start a new life in Washington, D.C., as a school teacher.”

In addition to Parker and Lucas, The Firm cast includes Juliette Lewis as Tammy, “Mitch’s feisty, sexy receptionist” and Callum Keith Rennie as Ray McDeere, “Mitch’s charming yet volatile older brother whose work as an investigator in Mitch’s office is uniquely informed by his past stretch in prison for manslaughter. Despite a highly un-ambitious nature that stands in stark contrast to his Harvard-grad brother, Ray shares one key quality with Mitch: a loyalty that is unbreakable.”

The Plot: The Firm continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere (Lucas) who, as a young associate, brought down the prestigious Memphis law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, which operated as a front for the Chicago mob. After a difficult decade, McDeere and his family now emerge from isolation to reclaim their lives and their future — only to find that past dangers are still lurking and new threats are everywhere.
