Daniel Radcliffe Video – On Harry Potter and Quidditch on The Daily Show

Being the “chosen one” doesn’t appear to have affected Daniel Radcliffe. Starring as Harry Potter, the boy who lived, in the eight Harry Potter films hasn’t sent Radcliffe into therapy, and for the most part he’s kept out of all the tabloid magazines over the past decade. Radcliffe wasn’t caught exhibiting behavior unworthy of Harry Potter (getting naked in Equus doesn’t count as that was purely professional) and he’s kept his sense of humor about him as he’s endured a decades-worth of questions from reporters and fans. That sense of humor’s evident in this video clip from Comedy Central’s The Daily Show in which he answers questions from real-life Quidditch players, including one pivotal question: “Do you feel any guilt at all for my ongoing virginity?”

The final Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, hit theaters on July 15, 2011.

‘Captain Planet’ Movie in the Works

We can never have too many superhero films, right? Cartoon Network’s trusting that audiences haven’t yet hit the breaking point when it comes to films based on superheroes as they’re planning a live-action Captain Planet feature film. Cartoon Network’s just completed a deal with Transformers producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford and their company Angry Filmworks to develop a film based on Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers debuted on TBS and TNT in 1990, with celebrities including Whoopi Goldberg (Gaia), Meg Ryan (Dr. Blight), Martin Sheen (Sly Sludge), Edward Asner (Hoggish Greedly), James Coburn (Looten Plunder), Dean Stockwell (Duke Nukem) and Sting (Zarm) lending their voices to the series. Ted Turner and DIC Enterprises created the “world’s first animated environmental series” to address serious environmental issues. The official synopsis of the show explains it’s “about a group of young people who combine their special powers (The Planeteers) to summon Captain Planet, an environmental superhero, to battle the world’s worst eco-villains.”

In the press release announcing the feature film, President and COO of Turner Broadcasting System Inc.’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media division Stuart Snyder stated, “The messages of Captain Planet are even more relevant today,” said Snyder. “We feel this team can bring the world’s first eco-hero to life in a powerful motion picture that is not only pertinent but entertaining.”

“We are extremely excited about bringing the good Captain back to life,” said producer Don Murphy. “His adventures are known worldwide and he is recognized across generations. We expect to make a spectacular series of films with the amazing team at Cartoon Network.”

‘True Blood’ Season 4 Episode 4 Recap

Best line from True Blood season four episode four belongs to Eric Northman (played by Alexander Skarsgard). The 1,000+-year-old Viking vampire is suffering from amnesia after a run-in with a witch (played by Fiona Shaw), a run-in which has Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), Jesus (Kevin Alejandro), and Tara (Rutina Wesley) freaked out over the possibility that once Eric regains his memory, he’ll hunt them down for their role in his memory loss.

Hiding out at Sookie’s house (which he actually now owns, in another departure from the books), Eric says, “If you kiss me, I promise you’ll be happy.” Swoon. Meanwhile, Bill (Stephen Moyer) finds out a relationship-ending secret, and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) continues to fight against the people of Hotshot who want him to father panther babies.

It was a jam-packed episode and a marked improvement over the first two episodes of season four.

Captain America hits theaters on July 22, 2011 and stars Evans, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Stanley Tucci, and Tommy Lee Jones.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ First Trailer

We just bid farewell to the Harry Potter film series with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, and now Warner Bros has just put out the first trailer for The Dark Knight Rises – the last film of the Dark Knight trilogy. The Dark Knight Rises is Christopher Nolan’s last Batman film as director, and we’ll miss him being the one in charge of bringing Batman to life on the big screen.

At least we have this last Nolan-helmed Batman film to look forward to. It’s hitting theaters in July 2012, but WB is giving us an early sneak peek at what we can expect right now.

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.

Charlie Sheen to Star in ‘Anger Management’

Considering the year Charlie Sheen’s been having, it’s actually pretty interesting that a production company’s ready to get into business with Sheen on a new TV series. But, apparently, Lionsgate Television is ready to put Sheen back to work in front of the camera with Anger Management, a new sitcom based very loosely on the 2003 feature film of the same name which starred Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler.

As anyone who turned on a TV or browsed the internet this year probably is aware, Sheen had a very public falling out with his Two and a Half Men bosses at CBS. Sheen proclaimed that he was a warlock with tiger blood and Adonis DNA, and CBS proclaimed he wasn’t welcome back on the set of Two and a Half Men. A few months after Sheen and CBS parted ways, Ashton Kutcher was hired to take over as Jon Cryer’s Two and a Half Men co-star.

In the press release announcing Anger Management, Sheen said, “I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept. It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control, and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth.”

Roth and Sheen previously worked together on Young Guns, Three Musketeers, and Major League.

“Who better than Charlie Sheen to tackle Anger Management,” Roth said. “With Charlie’s incredible talent and comedic gifts, he remains the leading man of TV sitcoms. I’m excited to collaborate with him once again.”

“We always look for series ideas that are noisy, accessible and relevant,” said Lionsgate’s Kevin Beggs. “Charlie Sheen in Anger Management takes those criteria to a whole new level and we are thrilled to be in business with him, Evolution, Debmar-Mercury and Revolution Studios on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. With a star of Charlie’s magnitude, a producer as venerable as Joe Roth and a branded property as compelling as Anger Management, this show has unique upside while still adhering to our disciplined business model.”

Sheen will retain a significant ownership stake in the series inspired by the film, in which a mild-mannered, non-confrontational man is ordered to attend group anger management sessions led by a therapist who could probably use some anger management himself.

Spotlight On: Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song”

Mars, Monkeys and Mondays – somehow they just go together. This week’s spotlight music video is the official music video for Bruno Mars’s “The Lazy Song.” I’m not sure what monkeys actually have to do with the lyrics, but who am I to question Mars’s artistic vision?

Relativity Media has snatched up Sean Bean (simply incredible in Game of Thrones) to play Snow White’s dad, the King, in their still-untitled Snow White film currently shooting in Montreal. Bean joins a cast that includes Julia Roberts as the Queen, Lily Collins as Snow White, Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott, Robert Emms as Prince Alcott’s valet, Renbock, and Nathan Lane as the Queen’s bungling servant, Brighton. Michael Lerner is playing Baron and Mare Winningham is Baker Margaret.

The dwarfs will be played by Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Danny Woodburn, Sebastian Saraceno, Ronald Lee Clark, Martin Klebba and Joey Gnoffo. Tarsem Singh (Immortals) is directing from a screenplay by Melisa Wallack (Meet Bill) and Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher).

Relativity is planning a March 16, 2012 release.

The Plot: “In Relativity’s Snow White, a spectacular reimagining of the classic fairy tale, an evil queen steals control of a kingdom, and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.”
