We’ve come to the end of Gossip Girl with the arrival of season six. The series says goodbye to the gang with a 10-episode final season premiering on The CW on October 8, 2012.

Back in New York, a newly single Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) convinced Chuck to go on a hedonistic summer trip around the globe while Dan Humphrey’s (Penn Badgley) oldest friend went behind his back and found an editor to anonymously publish his autobiographical novel, “Inside.”

Season five opened in the City of Angels when a reenergized Chuck and Nate decide to pay Serena a visit. Back home, Blair learns that planning a royal wedding can be a royal pain, and Dan discovers the ramifications of writing candidly about his closest friends. Finally, the surprise return of cousin Charlie will threaten to destroy the Van Der Woodsen family from within.

Six years after the first blast, Gossip Girl continues for an unforgettable final season. As season six opens, Serena is completely off the grid. Her friends fear the worst but hope for the best … yet even they can’t imagine where they’ll find her. Blair has offered Chuck her heart, but is it enough to help win back his empire? Dan has written a new book that promises to make more trouble than the first, and this time he has no desire to be anonymous, and Nate is determined to reveal Gossip Girl’s true identity, thereby making a name for The Spectator — and himself.

Plus, Lily and Rufus turn on one another when Rufus makes a surprising new ally. And when Bart Bass, Jack Bass and Georgina Sparks show up to raise hell, it’s a fight to the spectacular series finale. Anywhere else it would be too much drama to handle, but this is the Upper East Side! So who comes out on top? That’s one secret I’ll never tell…. XOXO, Gossip Girl.

Katy Perry Has Serious Fun in ‘Last Friday Night’ Music Video

Katy Perry. Rebecca Black. Yes, that Rebecca Black. Kenny G. Hanson. Darren Criss. Kevin McHale. Corey Feldman. Debbie Gibson. Perry’s music video for “Last Friday night (T.G.I.F.)” off her Teenage Dream album is funky and fun, and sort of addictive. It’s got an ’80s vibe, Perry in braces, and Black as her BFF and fashion consultant. McHale from Glee is her knight in shining armor, and Feldman and Gibson play Perry’s parents. Kenny G’s her uncle and Hanson’s the house band.

What more could you want from a Katy Perry summer video?

Global Smurfs Day to Celebrate Peyo’s Birthday

Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation are hosting a Global Smurfs Day event in honor of Smurfs creator Peyo’s birthday (June 25, 1928). Of course, the event is also a way to stir up interest in their upcoming 3D/live action comedy film, The Smurfs, set for release in theaters on July 29th.

Here are the details straight from Columbia Pictures:

On Global Smurfs Day, as participants enjoy fun Smurf-related activities in cities worldwide, they will be invited and encouraged to come to the events in Smurf costume in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Records title for Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Smurfs within a 24-hour period in Multiple Venues. The events will be synchronized around the world – this will be the most Smurfs that have ever been gathered at the same time.

To achieve recognition from Guinness World Records the global events must collectively add up to more than 2,510 Smurfs. Adjudicators from Guinness World Records will be on hand in 12 cities around the world as it is expected that hundreds of participants in each city will come to the event dressed as Smurfs (white Smurf hat, white pants and shoes, and body painted blue). While all are being asked to arrive at the event in head-to-toe Smurf costume, each event will have Smurfs hats and blue T-shirts available.

Among the cities participating in the record attempt as part of Global Smurfs Day are Brussels, Belgium (Peyo’s home country); Athens, Greece; Scheveningen (The Hague), Holland; Dublin, Ireland; Mexico City, Mexico; Panama City, Panama; Warsaw, Poland; Moscow, Russia; Johannesburg, South Africa; New York, USA; and London, UK. Events include a Smurfs Experience in London as The O2 is turned into The “O-Blue” and a family event at New York’s “Smurf Street Blueport” (a/k/a South Street Seaport); also, Peyo’s family will be on hand to join in the fun in their home country of Belgium.

In addition, there will be Global Smurf Day events in many other locations around the world. For example, in Spain, the village of Júzcar, in the province of Malaga – one of the famous White Towns of Andalusia, renowned for their characteristic whitewashed walls – will kick off the celebrations by painting the entire town blue for the occasion. Life-size (that is, 7½-inch tall) Smurf figurines will inhabit Paris’s Trocadero Terrace (in front of the Eiffel Tower), the main square in Reykjavik, Iceland, Bogotá, Colombia’s El Dorado International Airport, and high-traffic areas in Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland.

In Taiwan, the landmark Red House will be transformed into a “Blue House,” populated by Smurf figurines. In Copenhagen, Denmark, the event will be at the Tivoli Gardens amusement park, where participants can enjoy face painting, dance-alongs, and more fun-filled events. And in Los Angeles, at Santa Monica Place, there will be a celebration of Peyo’s birthday with Smurfy activities.

‘Green Lantern’ – Ryan Reynolds Interview at Comic-Con

Ryan Reynolds is no stranger to action films but with Green Lantern he takes on his first lead role in a major studio superhero film. At the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, Reynolds talked about what sets this film’s action apart from others he’d done.

Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern Interview:

How does the action in this compare to what you’ve done before?
Ryan Reynolds: “The action in this is different in many ways. It’s got the fingerprint of Martin Campbell which is kind of a much faster, dirtier, uglier kind of action. Actually, that was the thing I was most surprised about going into it was that the action wasn’t kind of clean and deliberate the way it is in a lot of these kinds of films. It was messy and it was ugly, and people get hurt – both onscreen and off.”

Did you?
Ryan Reynolds: “Yeah, sure, everyone does. I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t. And that’s what I think is going to be the most interesting thing for the action-oriented fans of a movie like this.”

There’s been a lot of talk about the costume. What is the costume and how’d it come about?
Ryan Reynolds: “Well the costume is two things. It’s a manifestation of technology at this point because they were able to do it in such a way that you could… You know, it’s a construct. It’s a manifestation of his will and his imagination. It’s not something he puts on, it’s something that comes out of him. In order to do that properly, you have to use technology. I’m not actually going to let them put a suit inside my body and then rip it out through my skin. And I’m glad because they did suggest it at the beginning. But for the most part, it’s something that I’m so excited about for people to see – particularly in motion. To see that suit in motion is something you’ll never forget.”

How was your time on the set?
Ryan Reynolds: “Everybody that’s crewed up in this movie are people who are at the top of their field and because of that it really allows me to kind of come in and just focus on my job and only my job.”

Deadpool means a lot to you, does Green Lantern mean as much?
Ryan Reynolds:Green Lantern means a lot to me. And admittedly I wasn’t as familiar with Green Lantern coming into the project, but as I learned I fell in love with the character. It’s such an iconic guy. He’s the guy who throws the punch, kisses the girl, and tells a joke. It’s like, ‘Who wouldn’t want to play that?’ But Deadpool is something I’m also very passionate about and we’re still actively working on.”

What makes Comic-Con such a special place?
Ryan Reynolds: “Well I think you have this one city that’s hosting everybody’s greatest fantasy. Whatever it is, nothing’s too crazy. Well, maybe I’ve seen a few things that might be a little much. But for the most part, you have this one area that is entirely accepting of everybody’s freak – their inner freak – and it’s great. You wander around, and you get to see people dressed up in every…their heroes from when they were kids. They get to dress up as them for three or four days, and nobody looks at them and makes fun of them. I mean otherwise, it’s just a complete and utter acceptance, and that’s what’s so cool about it, I think.”
