Def Leppard’s joined forces with the Wounded Warrior Project and Raven Drum Foundation to make available free concert tickets and VIP Wounded Warrior Meet N’ Greets with Def Leppard one-armed drummer Rick Allen to active and veteran military personnel.

Per the press release: “With this contribution, our heroes are thanked for their service and invited to enjoy an evening with their loved ones and fellow service men and women. For many veterans, reintegration into daily civilian life has its many challenges – the goal here is to provide an important, bonding entertainment experience. For the VIP Wounded Warrior Meet N’ Greets, it is an honor to welcome VIP Wounded Warriors to join Rick Allen and Raven Drum Foundation backstage before the concerts to share experiences, inspire, and be inspired.”

Tickets will be distributed by the Wounded Warrior Project.

Rick Allen and Lauren Monroe created the Raven Drum Foundation, a non-profit organization set up to serve, educate and empower veterans and other people in crisis. “The Veteran Resiliency Program, which focuses on veterans and their families, is the foundation’s primary program. This program guides participants and provides somatic and contemplative tools that bring body and mind to a place of rest and balance. The foundation engages music as a tool for healing, allowing participants to use rhythm as a form of release, an avenue for empowerment, and a means to connect to others.” [per Raven Drum]

I had a Monday afternoon off and I was walking at the mall by myself. I walked by the theatre and noticed that The Hangover II was scheduled to start in 20 minutes, so I bought a ticket. I walked into the theatre, and there was just one other person seated. I wondered, if a theatre sells no tickets to a showing, do they still show the movie? I guess it’s kinda like wondering if the light is on the refrigerator when the door’s closed.

At any rate, as soon as I sit down the previews start. I’m seated in the second row from the top, in the middle of the row. The other person in the theatre was seated in the middle of the theatre on the right-hand side, as you’re looking at the screen. We must have both been thinking alike because we both have our feet up, a big drink, and we’re not too concerned about having our phone on and sending text messages.

The movie starts with some strong points, and while there are no gut-busters in the first few segments there are some entertaining parts. Then, about 10 minutes into the movie, a third person comes into the theatre and sits on the left-hand side of the theatre. That may answer my question I guess; they would still show the movie if they sell no tickets by show time, just in case someone comes late.

I knew going into this movie based on both what I had heard and my assumption, that this was not a movie that was going to “change the world,” make anyone forget about Titanic, or win any awards. To be honest, I don’t need any of that to like a movie. I just wanted to kick back and be entertained for two hours. That is what I got. The formula or playbook was nearly identical to the first. I must admit that I watched pretty closely to see if I could figure out what caused the hangover, and I still didn’t catch it.

If there is a Hangover III, the formula is going to have to change though. For starters, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and Doug (Justin Bartha) are all married now. Does that mean Alan (Zach Galifianakis) is actually going to get married? (Maybe Mike Tyson will get married…I doubt it.) Also, as in the first movie, Doug had a rather minor role compared to the other members of the “Wolf Pack.” Will that change? Phil’s wife played a little more of a role in this movie than in the first. Maybe, the third will somehow include the wives.

Finally, I was disappointed that we still didn’t learn where the chickens came from in the first Hangover.

The Plot, Courtesy of CBS: Blue Bloods is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement.  Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood.  He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as commissioner.

A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son Danny, a seasoned detective, family man, and Iraqi War vet who on occasion, uses dubious tactics to solve cases.  The sole Reagan woman in the family, Erin, is a N.Y. Assistant D.A. and newly single parent, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father.

Jamie is the youngest Reagan, fresh out of Harvard Law and the family’s “golden boy;” however, unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and is now a newly minted cop. Jamie’s life takes an abrupt turn when he’s asked to become part of a clandestine police investigation even his father knows nothing about, and one that could impact the family’s legacy.

‘The Middle’ Season 3 – Cast, Plot, and Trailer

Season three of ABC’s half-hour comedy The Middle will premiere on September 21, 2011. Neil Flynn and Patricia Heaton lead the cast as Mike and Frankie Heck.

The cast also includes Charlie McDermott as Axl, Eden Sher as Sue, Atticus Shaffer as Brick, and Chris Kattan as Bob.

The Plot: Middle-aged, middle class and living in the middle of the country in Orson, Indiana, Frankie Heck is a harried wife and working mother of three who uses her wry wit and sense of humor in an attempt to get her family through each day intact. Her work life’s no easier. With her friend and co-worker, Bob, she struggles day to day as the least successful saleswoman at the town’s only surviving car dealer.

Frankie’s unflappable husband, Mike, is a manager at the local quarry and her sardonic partner in the daily grind that is raising their average – yes, most definitely average – family.

Between juggling shifts and picking up fast food dinners eaten in front of the TV, Frankie and Mike raise their kids with love, humor, and solid Midwestern practicality. Axl, the oldest, is a teenage jock who eats them out of house and home and walks around the house in his underwear. Then there’s Sue, their extraordinarily ordinary teen daughter, who fails at just about everything she tries with great gusto – although she’s hoping her recent acceptance on the school’s beleaguered no-cut cross country team might just turn things around.

And last is Brick, their quirky third-grader, who reads constantly, whispers to himself, and has a best friend who’s his backpack.

But through all the madness shines a loving family, and together, the Hecks are putting The Middle on the map.
