‘The Housemaid’ First Trailer with Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney

The official trailer for Lionsgate’s The Housemaid opens with Amanda Seyfried screaming. A job interview follows, which leads to something sinister going on behind closed doors. The trailer teases secrets will be exposed and blood will be spilled.

Sydney Sweeney (who’s in practically everything this year) stars along with Brandon Sklenar (1923), Michele Morrone (Another Simple Favor), and Elizabeth Perkins (The Afterparty). Rebecca Sonnenshine adapted Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel and Paul Feig (Another Simple Favor) directs.

“From director Paul Feig, the film plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems. Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sweeney) accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power,” reads Lionsgate’s synopsis. “Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.”

The Housemaid opens in theaters on December 19, 2025.

Netflix has set an October 30, 2025 premiere date for The Witcher season four and released a new clip featuring Geralt of Rivia (now played by Liam Hemsworth) facing off with a wraith. The ensemble also includes Mecia Simson as Francesca, Sharlto Copley as Leo Bonhart, Danny Woodburn as Zoltan, Jeremy Crawford as Yarpen, Bart Edwards as Emhyr, Hugh Skinner as Radovid, and James Purefoy as Skellen. “After the Continent-altering events of Season Three, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…”

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich created the series and serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.  Commenting on the fourth season, Hissrich told Tudum, “This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever.”

First Look: ‘The Beast in Me’ Teaser Trailer with Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys

The teaser for Netflix’s The Beast in Me begins with Aggie (Claire Danes) saying, “We are, all of us, drawn to monsters. We flirt with death to prove we’re truly alive. And if we can’t stop, then that small fire we lit might just burn the whole house down with us still inside.” Who’s the monster that Aggie is drawn to? Her neighbor, Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys).

The eight-episode season also stars Brittany Snow and Natalie Morales. Guest stars include Jonathan Banks, David Lyons, Tim Guinee, Hettienne Park, Deidre O’Connell, Aleyse Shannon, Will Brill, Kate Burton, Bill Irwin, Amir Arison, and Julie Ann Emery.

“Since the tragic death of her young son, acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (Danes) has receded from public life, unable to write, a ghost of her former self. But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Jarvis (Rhys), a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth—chasing his demons while fleeing her own—in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly.”

The Beast in Me premieres on Netflix on November 13, 2025.

Series creator Gabe Rotter (The X-Files) and showrunner Howard Gordon (Homeland) serve as writers and executive producers. Claire Danes, Daniel Pearle, Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, David Kissinger, Caroline Baron, and Jodie Foster also executive produce.

Antonio Campos (The Staircase) directs and executive produces. Additional writers include Erika Sheffer, C.A. Johnson, Daniel Pearle, Ali Liebegott, and Mike Skerrett.

“The title of the series comes from a Johnny Cash song—but it’s not as simple as it might initially seem,” explained showrunner Howard Gordon to Tudum. “It really is about all of our complicity. Whether it’s Monica Lewinsky or Amanda Knox or Nile Jarvis or whatever, sometimes we are quick to make assumptions. But when we are forced to look at it from another angle, do we have the humility and the compassion to listen and to revise the narrative?”

‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’ Preview: Cast, Plot, Trailer and Air Date

Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s third installment of his Monster anthology series turns the spotlight on real-life monster Ed Gein. Monster: The Ed Gein Story stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) in the titular role, and the official trailer teases the incredibly ghoulish killer’s obsession with human skin.

The eight-episode season also stars Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, and Suzanna Son. The ensemble also includes Vicky Krieps, Olivia Williams, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Addison Rae, Charlie Hall, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill, and Robin Weigert.

Netflix has set an October 3, 2025 premiere date.

“Serial killer. Grave robber. Psycho. In the frozen fields of 1950s rural Wisconsin, a friendly, mild-mannered recluse named Eddie Gein lived quietly on a decaying farm—hiding a house of horrors so gruesome it would redefine the American nightmare,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Driven by isolation, psychosis, and an all-consuming obsession with his mother, Gein’s perverse crimes birthed a new kind of monster that would haunt Hollywood for decades.

From Psycho to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to The Silence of the Lambs, Gein’s macabre legacy gave birth to fictional monsters born in his image and ignited a cultural obsession with the criminally deviant. Ed Gein didn’t just influence a genre—he became the blueprint for modern horror.”

Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan created the series and serve as executive producers along with Hunnam, Max Winkler, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, Louise Shore, and Carl Franklin. Brennan wrote the season and directed episodes four and five. Winkler directed episodes one, two, three, six, seven, and eight.

‘Swiped’ Review: Lily James is Terrific…the Film, Not So Much

Swiped star Lily James
Lily James as Whitney Wolfe Herd in 20th Century Studios’ ‘SWIPED’ (Photo © 2025 20th Century Studios)

Unless you’re really up on key figures in the tech world, the name Whitney Wolfe Herd may not mean anything. But it should because Whitney is the founder of Bumble and a co-founder of Tinder. Swiped, premiering on Hulu on September 19, 2025, chronicles Whitney’s humble beginnings as an enthusiastic young woman with a desire to help others to becoming the creator of a female-forward social network and the first self-made female billionaire.

Swiped picks up Whitney’s story in 2012 as she finagles her way into a party to pitch an app she’s working on that connects volunteers with orphanages. Whitney (Lily James) is hit on (a lot) but doesn’t get any bites until she engages in small talk with up-and-coming CEO Sean Rad (Ben Schnetzer, 3 Body Problem). Fortune is on her side when she impresses Sean and earns a position as his full-time marketing director.

Sean’s got his fingers in a lot of pies, but the one that really snares Whitney’s interest is a dating app. Whitney plays a pivotal role in the app’s early success, from pitching the name Tinder to launching a campus recruitment program to get the target demographic to download the app and create profiles. It was Tinder’s team that devised the now-iconic swipe left or right, and Whitney was such a crucial part of the app’s success that she was named a co-founder.

Swiped portrays Whitney as a key player in Tinder but also shows how she was a victim of the sort of toxic male-dominated workplace culture so prevalent in the tech industry at the time. Her contributions weren’t just minimalized; she was harassed, betrayed, and ultimately iced out by her male co-founders, all despite the fact she was crucial to the app’s popularity.

While Swiped does a terrific job of following Whitney’s time at Tinder, the film falters when it explores Whitney’s post-Tinder events. Her downward spiral after being forced out at Tinder and then ultimate success when Badoo founder Andrey Andreev (Dan Stevens) funds the more female-empowered Bumble seems oversimplified. As does the revelation of wrongdoings at Badoo and Whitney’s subsequent reaction. Complex issues are tied up too neatly, given the film’s more detailed dive into the Tinder timeframe. Whitney’s development of Bumble is given short shrift, with the focus primarily on her troubles rather than her successes.

Despite the film’s rushed feeling, Lily James absolutely shines as the young entrepreneur trying to make her way in a misogynistic world. James’ performance is the clear highlight of the film, effectively capturing Whitney’s ambition, vulnerability, and resilience. James makes you feel every victory and defeat as Whitney’s journey unfolds.

Swiped’s swift pace does keep things from getting boring but doesn’t allow for much character development outside of Whitney herself. Some of the supporting characters feel more like archetypes than real people, but since this is Whitney’s story, that’s not surprising.

In the end, Swiped is an engaging watch, thanks to James’ compelling lead performance. It’s a solid film, but it doesn’t quite live up to the promise of its fascinating subject matter. (It’s not 2025’s version of The Social Network.) Still, if you’re a fan of Lily James or are simply curious about the story behind one of the biggest apps in the world, it’s worth a look.

Emmys 2025 Winners: The Studio, The Pitt, and Adolescence Win Big

Emmys 2025 Winner The Studio
Comedy Series winners ‘The Studio’ at the 77TH EMMY AWARDS (Photo: Sonja Flemming © 2025 CBS Broadcasting, Inc)

Grammy-nominated comedian Nate Bargatze not only hosted the 77th Emmy Awards, he also put up his own money to get winners to stick to the 45-second rule. Bargatze said he was donating $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Club, but that number would change based on how many seconds speeches went short or long. Given the number of first-time winners, it wasn’t the best year to try this particular running gag. Maybe cutting back on the allotted time for presenters would have been a better decision.

The Pitt surprised everyone, earning Best Drama, Actor in a Drama (Noah Wyle’s first win), and Supporting Actress in a Drama (Katherine LaNasa) Emmy wins. The Studio also proved popular, scoring Best Comedy, Actor in a Comedy (Seth Rogen), Directing, and Writing wins. And Adolescence dominated with wins in the Best Limited or Anthology Series, Supporting Actor (Owen Cooper, entering the record books as the youngest male winner in an acting category), Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series (Stephen Graham), Supporting Actress (Erin Doherty), Directing, and Writing categories.

Other winners of multiple awards included The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hacks, and Severance. Winners of the 2025 Emmy Awards were announced live on CBS on Sunday, September 14th at 5pm PT/8pm ET.

‘Doc’ Season 2 Episode 1 Preview: Cast, Photos, and Air Date

Doc Season 2 Episode 1

Fox’s Doc returns for season two with an episode that finds a father willing to go to extreme lengths to save his daughter. Season two episode one, “Her Heart,” airs on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 9pm ET/PT.

Molly Parker leads the cast as Dr. Amy Larsen, Omar Metwally stars as Dr. Michael Hamda, Felicity Huffman is Dr. Joan Ridley, Amirah Vann plays Dr. Gina Walker, and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim is Katie Hamda. Jon Ecker is Dr. Jake Heller and Anya Banerjee plays Dr. Sonya Maitra.

“Her Heart” Plot: Amy’s past comes back to haunt her when a desperate father sacrifices everything to secure his daughter’s heart transplant.

Doc Series Description, Courtesy of Fox:

“Inspired by a true story and based on the hit eponymous Italian drama series, Doc begins its second season of the life-affirming medical drama following the heartbreak and victories of hard-charging, brilliant physician DR. AMY LARSEN (Parker) as she rebuilds her life after a car crash erased eight years of her memory. This season, Amy will continue to confront hard truths about her missing years, work to repair fractured relationships and seek to reconcile the person she used to be with the one everyone else has come to know.

Determined to get her memory back and piece together who she really is, Amy’s goal is to become the doctor she used to be in those missing years and to eventually, once again, be Chief of Internal Medicine. In the interim, her ex-husband/Westside Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, DR. MICHAEL HAMDA (Metwally) fills the position with Amy’s former mentor and friend DR. JOAN RIDLEY (Huffman), whose motives and priorities remain hidden, just as long as Amy still can’t recall Joan’s life-changing secret. Amy’s best friend and colleague, DR. GINA WALKER (Vann), is weary of Joan’s motives and continues to be a beacon of support for those around her, while finally learning to put on her own oxygen mask first.

While relearning eight years of medical advancements is complicated, it pales in comparison to learning to navigate her new/old/current romantic entanglements. Amy continues to fight her feelings and let Michael go, especially now with the birth of his son with his new wife, bringing up emotions for both Amy and their daughter KATIE HAMDA (Fountain-Jardim). Amy’s on-again, off-again relationship with Chief Resident DR. JAKE HELLER (Ecker) is a bit more delicate as he struggles to protect his heart from her this time around. However, DR. SONYA MAITRA (Banerjee) would only be too glad to pick up the pieces, navigating the balance between her feelings for Jake and her complicated resentment towards Amy.

The second season of Doc begins as Amy’s past comes back to haunt her when a desperate father sacrifices everything to secure his daughter’s heart transplant. Chaos and confusion reverberate through the hallways of Westside Medical when a subsequent high-stakes emergency leaves a doctor’s life in the balance.”

‘The Hunting Wives’ Earns a Season 2 Renewal

Netflix’s The Hunting Wives will return for season two, with the main cast reprising their roles. Season one premiered on July 21, 2025, and the streamer hasn’t announced a target date for season two.

“I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again, and I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, batshit crazy ride through Maple Brook,” said writer, executive producer, showrunner, and series creator Rebecca Cutter.

The adult drama generated 20 million views in the US over its first five weeks of release.

Malin Akerman (Neighborhood Watch) will return as Margo—hopefully with a much less distracting wig—and Brittany Snow (X) reprises her role as Sophie. Jamie Ray Newman (Dopesick), Dermot Mulroney (Anyone But You), Evan Jonigkeit (Archive 81), and George Ferrier (Sweet Tooth) will also return for season two.

“At the start of season two, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “As they play their dangerous games the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

The series is based on May Cobb’s bestselling novel and produced by Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment. Author Cobb serves as an executive producer along with 3 Arts Entertainment’s Erwin Stoff.
