MTV Movie Awards 2013 Nominees: Django, Ted Top the List

Hell has apparently frozen over. A Twilight movie was released last year and it did not top the list of MTV Movie Awards nominees. The final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, earned just one – yes, one – nomination which was still one too many. The MTV Movie Awards are often jokingly referred to as the ‘Twilight Awards’, however the last film of the sparkling vampire series is going out with an MTV Movie Awards whimper rather than a roar.

Instead, sitting on top the list of nominees are the much more deserving Django Unchained and Ted followed closely by Silver Linings Playbook and The Dark Knight Rises.

The awards will be hosted this year by Rebel Wilson and will take place on Sunday, April 14, 2013. And in addition to the award categories, Will Ferrell is set to pick up the first-ever Comic Genius Award.

Voting is open now at MovieAwards.MTV.com and runs through Saturday, April 13th.
