The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and Writers Guild of America (WGA) strikes have taken a toll on the 75th Emmy Awards. Originally scheduled to take place on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE, the Television Academy and Fox have moved out of 2023 entirely and landed on a new January 15, 2024 date.

SAG-AFTRA and the WGA are no closer to striking deals with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Writers have been walking the picket lines for 100 days, and the actors officially joined them on July 14, 2023. Both SAG-AFTRA and WGA are seeking fair deals, including new guidelines for the use of AI and residual payments.

The Emmys honor standout performances as well as outstanding work by writers, directors, and craftspeople. The 75th Emmy Awards will be executive produced by Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay of Jesse Collins Entertainment.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards also have a new date, shifting to two consecutive nights on Saturday, January 6, and Sunday, January 7, 2024. FXX will air an edited presentation of the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 8:00 PM EST/PST.
