Holly Jackson’s bestselling young adult mystery series comes to life in Netflix’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Starring Wednesday‘s Emma Myers, the murder mystery is set to premiere on August 1, 2024.
“Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. But smart and single-minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure, and she’s determined to prove it,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “And if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?”
Joining Myers in the six-episode season are Zain Iqbal, Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, India Lillie Davies, Rahul Pattni, and Henry Ashton. The ensemble also includes Mitu Panicucci, Orla Hill, Ephraim O.P. Sampson, Carla Woodcock, Yasmin Al-Khudhairi, Jessica Webber, and Matthew Khan.
Rounding out the cast are Georgia Aaron, Oliver Wickham, Adam Astill, Annabel Mullion, Jude Morgan-Collie, Raiko Gohara, Asha Banks, and Yali Topol Margalith.
“I’m thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream,” said Myers in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. “Whether you’ve read the book or not, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it.”
Dolly Wells directs and Florence Walker serves as a producer. Poppy Cogan is the lead writer, with Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas also writing the six-episode season. Executive producers include Cogan, Wells, Holly Jackson, Matthew Read, ZDFneo’s Jonas Melcher, Matthew Bouch and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures, and BBC’s Lucy Richer and Danielle Scott-Haughton.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is produced by Moonage Pictures in co-production with ZDFneo and Netflix.
