Netflix offered the first look at the upcoming A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series with the release of the first two photos. Emma Myers (Wednesday) leads the cast of the live-action series based on the bestselling young adult trilogy by Holly Jackson.

“I’m thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream,” said Myers in a feature on Netflix’s Tudum. “Whether you’ve read the book or not, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it.”

In addition to Myers, the six-episode season stars Zain Iqbal, Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, India Lillie Davies, and Rahul Pattni. Henry Ashton, Mitu Panicucci, Orla Hill, Ephraim O.P. Sampson, Carla Woodcock, and Yasmin Al-Khudhairi also star in the mystery thriller.

The ensemble also includes Jackson Bews, Jessica Webber, Matthew Khan, Georgia Aaron, Oliver Wickham, Adam Astill, and Annabel Mullion.

“Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. But smart and single-minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure and she’s determined to prove it,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “And if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?”

Poppy Cogan adapted Jackson’s book and Dolly Wells directs. Additional writers include Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas. The series is a Moonage Pictures production, in co-production with ZDFneo and Netflix. Florence Walker produces, with Wells, Cogan, author Holly Jackson, and Moonage Pictures’ Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, and Frith Tiplady executive producing. ZDFneo’s Jonas Melcher and BBC’s Lucy Richer and Danielle Scott-Haughton also serve as executive producers.

Netflix is targeting a 2024 release, following the series’ debut in the UK and Ireland on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
