AMC is preparing to expand their Anne Rice Immortal Universe with a third series. The untitled series will be set in the world of the Talamasca and has Oscar nominee John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) attached as showrunner and writer.

AMC’s successfully adapted Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, with both shows receiving season two orders after posting impressive ratings. Interview with the Vampire, starring Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid, premiered in October 2022. Mayfair Witches with Alexandra Daddario and Jack Huston debuted in January 2023.

“The enthusiastic critical and fan reception to Interview and Mayfair is a great sign of what is yet to come in this immersive universe based on the works of Anne Rice,” stated Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “We’re excited to be in active development of the next installment in this growing franchise, written and to be showrun by the incomparable John Lee Hancock. The Talamasca is one of the most intriguing elements of Rice’s works and a connective thread through so many of her stories, the standalone and crossover potential for this third series is immense.”

According to AMC, Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches rank as the top two new series premieres on AMC+. They also earned spots on the top 10 list of cable dramas in the 2022/2023 season among adults 18-54.

Filming is currently underway in Prague on season two of Interview with the Vampire. Season two of Mayfair Witches is expected to begin shooting in New Orleans later this year.
