Amy Poehler’s new comedy, Dig, just unveiled the first batch of photos. The series, announced in May 2025, has a November 23, 2026 premiere date on Peacock for the 10-episode first season.
The comedy’s based on Kate Myers’ bestseller Excavations and stars Amy Poehler, Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza. Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and Bonita Friedericy are season one guest stars. Poehler and Michael Schur co-wrote the pilot, and Schur and J.J. Philbin guide the series as showrunners.
Executive producers include Poehler, Schur, Philbin, Morgan Sackett, Ocean Avenue’s Sharon Jackson, Paper Kite’s Dean Holland, Kate Arend, and Jordan Grief, and 3 Arts’ Dave Becky and David Miner. Author Kate Myers is a co-executive producer.
The series marks the first time Parks & Recreation‘s Poehler and Schur have teamed up since 2015.
“Dig follows a team of dedicated archaeologists (and less-dedicated college students) who spend their summer working on a dig site in Greece,” reads Peacock’s synopsis. “Their discovery of a rare artifact sends them on the adventure of a lifetime.”
