The Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That… has been picked up for a second season by HBO MAX. The 10 episode first season premiered in December 2021 and finished up on February 3, 2022. HBO Max hasn’t confirmed a targeted premiere date for the second season.

“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters – played by these powerful, amazing actors. The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just like That… our Sex life is back,” said executive producer Michael Patrick King.

Season one set a new record for the biggest debut of a Max Original series. The series is led by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis reprising their Sex and the City roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbs, and Charlotte York, respectively.

The first season’s cast also included Sara Ramírez as Che Diaz, Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel, Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley, Karen Pittman as Dr. Nya Wallace. Chris Noth briefly reprised his role as Mr. Big, Mario Cantone returned as Anthony Marentino, David Eigenberg was back as Steve Brady, and Evan Handler returned as Harry Goldenblatt. Willie Garson reunited with his Sex and the City co-stars/friends for a few episodes before he passed away in September 2021 at the age of 57.

“We have been delighted by the cultural conversation generated by these characters and their stories, set in a world we already know and love so much. We are proud of the work Michael Patrick King and our wonderful writers, producers, cast and crew have done to bring these stories to the screen. We can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store for season 2!” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.
