Apple TV’s official Cape Fear trailer captures the terrifying vibe of a couple who have every right to be scared for their lives. The 10-episode limited series premieres on June 5, 2026, and new episodes will stream on Fridays.
The series stars Oscar winner Javier Bardem, Oscar nominee Amy Adams, Emmy nominee Patrick Wilson, Joe Anders, Lily Collias, and Malia Pyles. The supporting cast includes CCH Pounder, Jamie Hector, and Anna Baryshnikov.
Apple TV offers this synopsis:
“Inspired by the 1991 remake directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Steven Spielberg, a storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson) when Max Cady (Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance.”
Nick Antosca created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Oscar winner Martin Scorsese, Oscar winner Steven Spielberg, Adams, and Bardem executive produce. Additional executive producers include Alex Hedlund, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey.
The limited series is based on John D. MacDonald’s The Executioners and Scorsese’s 1991 film.
