Netflix has unveiled the first official photos from the upcoming series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The new series, which is based on the popular comics, stars Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina Spellman/Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Netflix will premiere the original series on October 26, 2018.

In addition to Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men, Feud: Bette and Joan), the cast includes Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, Bronson Pinchot, and Gavin Leatherwood.

In January when the news of Shipka’s casting in the lead role broke, writer/executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale) said, “We’re all such huge fans of Kiernan’s work that when we started talking about who this new incarnation of Sabrina could be, her name was on everyone’s wish list. This is a darker, more macabre version of Sabrina, and we’re incredibly excited for people to see Kiernan make this iconic character her own.”

Joining Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa as executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwate, and Lee Toland Krieger. The series comes from Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions.

The Plot: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
