Netflix’s coming-of-age rowing drama Crew Girl debuted on September 10, 2026 and immediately earned a spot on the streamer’s English TV Top 10 list. That reception was good enough to earn the series an early season two renewal order.
Season one stars Miku Martineau (Star Trek: Section 31) as Teagan, Jessica Paré (Seal Team) as Ella, Sam Braun (The Marshmallow Experiment) as Josh, Kyle Clark (The Baby-Sitter’s Club) as Cam, and Thomas Cadrot (So Help Me Todd) as Coach Hayden. The renewal announcement did not confirm if they’ll all return for the just-announced second season. Netflix also did not release a synopsis of the upcoming season.

Vivian Lin (SkyMed) and Morwyn Brebner (Anna Pigeon) developed the series, and Lin, Jeff Norton, Lindsay Macadam, and Hillary Zwick Turner serve as executive producers. Additional executive producers include Tony Chung, Lori Massini, Matthew Hornburg, Mark J.W. Bishop, and Jennifer McCarron. Crew Girl is a Blue Ant Studios production.
Netflix’s official season one synopsis reads, “Sixteen-year-old Teagan Tao was a rising star in single sculls rowing until a family scandal capsized her future. Forced to relocate with her mom to the East Coast, Teagan starts over at the prestigious Easton Prep, where she’s not just an outcast but stuck aground – there’s no girls’ rowing team. Her only way to the water is to take the helm of the school’s notoriously dysfunctional boys’ varsity crew as their coxswain.
Thrust into a world of old money and brutal competition, Teagan must find a way to lead a team that doesn’t want her and somehow bring them together. As she juggles her own rowing ambitions, the demands of the boys’ crew, and her family’s escalating complications, she also finds herself unexpectedly caught in the orbit of the team’s two most competitive rivals: the arrogant team captain, Josh Regis, and the quiet but intensely driven underdog, Cam Dillinger.”
