Filming is about to get underway on Netflix’s just-announced new coming-of-age series Crew Girl. Production on the teen drama will be taking place in Victoria, British Columbia. Netflix hasn’t announced a target premiere date or confirmed season one’s episode count.

The series stars Miku Martineau (Star Trek: Section 31) as Teagan, Jessica Paré (Seal Team) as Ella, Samuel Braun (The Marshmallow Experiment) as Josh, Kyle Clark (The Baby-Sitter’s Club) as Cam, and Thomas Cadrot (So Help Me Todd) as Coach Hayden.

“A frothy, coming-of-age teen drama about a 16-year-old female rower Teagan who becomes the coxswain of a dysfunctional all-boys rowing team at an elite East Coast Prep School,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Warring rivals, messy romantic entanglements, and betrayed friendships spill drama both in and out of the boat. Not to mention her complicated relationship with her mom, Ella. The team’s a mess, her life’s a mess. Can she fix both and win?”

Vivian Lin (SkyMed) serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Additional executive producers include Jeff Norton, Lindsay Macadam, Hillary Zwick Turner, Tony Chung, and Lori Massini. The series is produced by Thunderbird Entertainment’s Great Pacific Media.
