Gina Gershon guest stars as Dr. Vanessa Holmes on CBS’s Elsbeth season one episode six, “An Ear for an Ear.” Episode six airs on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT. Nancy Hower directed from a script by Zoe Marshall.
Carrie Preston leads the season one cast in the title role. Wendell Pierce stars as Captain C.W. Wagner and Carra Patterson plays Officer Kaya Blanke. Jonathan Tolins guides the series as showrunner and also executive produces along with Liz Glotzer.
On April 18, 2024, CBS confirmed that Elsbeth has been renewed for a second season. Expect the popular primetime drama to return for the 2024-2025 season.
“An Ear for an Ear” Plot: After one of New York’s most sought-after plastic surgeons is found dead, Elsbeth has her eye on the victim’s former boss, Dr. Vanessa Holmes (Gershon), who she believes has motives that are more than skin-deep. Also, Kaya keeps tabs on Elsbeth’s whereabouts as her investigation into Captain Wagner heats up.

Emmy Award winner Carrie Preston stars as Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney who utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD. After leaving her successful legal career in Chicago to tackle a new investigative role in New York City, she finds herself jockeying with the toast of the NYPD, Captain C.W. Wagner (Pierce), a charismatic and revered leader. Working alongside Elsbeth is Officer Kaya Blanke (Patterson), a stoic and ethical officer who quickly develops an appreciation for Elsbeth’s insightful and offbeat ways.
